Lovely traditional inn great food not the cheapest but worth the money
We stayed here for two.nights. the room was lovely, spacious light and warm. very quiet and relaxing. we are in the restaurant and the bistro. the service was very good in both, and the food, particularly in the restaurant, was excellent. the choice and quality of the breakfast was also good. the bar area was very small but cosy. unfortunately had some rather rude locals who thought it acceptable to push on front of us to get served first! hideous man!
Coffee and shortbread in front of the roaring log fire in the lounge is always a treat. Fine old hostelry.
On arrival on a busy lunchtime nothing was too much trouble even though we had a wheelchair with us, we were directed into a little private lounge where a table was set up for us & hearing a screaming child in the bistro we were thankful.
A most superb lunch was had by all, this is one of our favourite eating places when visiting the nature reserve close by.
Thanks to you all, see you next year.
Such a lovely place! We stopped for lunch in the beer garden with our dog, we were made to feel very welcome and the garden is beautiful. Food was great, and some nice local beers on tap.
My wife and I had dinner in the restaurant and both the food and staff were excellent. Well worth a visit for a special occasion.
From seeing the place on you tube we thought we give this place a visit.
The bar offers a great selection of whisky , gin and vodka. Tried the daffys gin with ice and mint leaves and you won't want to leave.
Had ham sandwich with chips and salad. Excellent.
Must say nearly every thing on the menu sounded great .
Sat outside in the tranquil garden in the sun and didn't want to move .
There is a walk further up the hill which can be used to come to the pub and the views are wonderful.
Thanks to the staff who made our day a even more pleasent one .
Don't come to Cumbria without coming to the Pheasant inn.
Looked nice on the inside but was told there were no available spaces even for a quick 30 minute drink despite there being over 20-25 seats visibly available.
A great Bed & Breakfast in a lovely area. The Breakfast and afternoon tea was very good. The rooms are very traditional but are comfy and clean. The bar and gardens are interesting. All staff were very friendly. A great place to spend a few days.
