Top marks! It was our first visit today, we came for a carvery, the staff were very friendly and helpful. also as it was fathers day my husband received a free bottle of beer! such a lovely gesture thank you, the carvery was one one of the best I've ever had, we had clean plates all round even from the children. We will most definitely be back out again very soon thank you for a wonderful experience.

User

Too late for breakfast - too early for lunch but we chose from the carvery and boy, was it worth the wait.

It was lovely...no complaints at all.

Great service, great food, great price. Love it there...and will be returning !!

User

Stopped by tonight on our way back from a day trail running in Wales. All we wanted was a nice hot meal with two previous places being booked up. Me and my parents are vegan, the waiting staff were amazingly helpful and accomadating, best roast spuds and parsnips I've had in a long time and they prepared us some awesome veg. Thank you for a wonderful meal

User

Made my mother's day again....thank you it was delicious and that lamb omg so tender and tasty...just love this place

User

Lovely carvery. Amazing staff. Had a really nice time. Could not ask for more. Thank you

User

It was an excellent evening at The Pheasant. We had a group of about 60 and despite not being able to give them the exact numbers beforehand the lady who dealt with us coped admirably. The food was excellent and everyone had a great time.

User

First visit last night, part of a large booking for a birthday. Really impressed with the staff - I'm vegan and they were able to offer a couple of different options, I had the vegetable red Thai Curry which was really good. Would be great to see a dessert option on the menu, other than that, really happy

User

First time diner here and it was unbelievably busy and I can see why. We were seated on time and as I ordered from the menu while my wife and daughter opted for the carvery my meal was ready as they went up. The food was excellent and the staff curtious and attentive. We will return thanks.

User

Booked a table for 14, it was ready on time. Restaurant was incredibly busy so it took a while to be served but we weren't in a rush. All enjoyed our Carveries. The steak meals off the menu were ok, but not special. Overall, a great time was had and we would eat there again.

User

Been many times and last night had a lovely meal with my mum in law for a birthday treat for both of us lovely carvery plenty to eat thoroughly enjoyed it

User

Went on a Wednesday eve and was quite busy.

Seated and served quickly. We both had the carvery. The food was lovely and hot despite not looking great at all, the whole front of the hot counter has stuck on old veg on it. Looks awful and would take a minute to clean. Ruined the whole appearance of the vegetable section. Overall good though and service great

User

We had a group booking for a lunch time meal as it was my daughter's birthday. On the positive side, the carvery was nice and hot and very tasty. That to be honest was the only good thing. Some of us that ordered from the menu received cold food that took a full hour to arrive. The service was slow and terrible, making a simple lunch take over 3 hours from start to finish. Very disappointed with the place and had it not been for the good company we were in making light of the situation it would have been a lot worse.

User

Id eaten here before around 18 months ago, we were passing on BH and thought we'd pop in for lunch. For a BH I was surprised it wasn't busier. Unfortunately on this visit I was left disappointed with the time it took for our order to be taken, the arrival of the food and waiting on our bill. The food itself left little to boast about, average portions, I had hunters chicken and the chicken breast was smaller than my fist. Hubby ordered his favourite Ham, Egg and Chips, he said it tasted better than it looked, but what chef sends out eggs that aren't runny.

I've been going to the Pheasant Inn for several years for Sunday lunch. Until recently I have found the experience very pleasing. However it has now become so popular that I am seriously thinking of searching for an alternative venue. The food is still of a very high standard and the staff excellent. My problem is the number of people now being crammed Ito the building. It has become very noisy as it is a popular venue for celebrations and parties. Long queues now form at the car very and the number of tables now make it difficult to negiotiate with full plates. Much as I enjoy the food I now feel the venue no longer suits me for a quite Sunday Lunch enjoyed in a pleasant atmosphere.

User

Food is really good but the staff can be very rude especially the male manager who put the drinks down at the end of the table and said pass them along in a rather rude tone. They had taken a £24 deposit when we booked the table and didn’t take it off the bill so we had to go back in to get this sorted

User

Been coming to the pheasent for a while now and have always been very happy with the service and quality of do is.

However not so this time, I am a celiac and order from the gluten free menu, the praw cocktail should have come with bread and butter which never arrived!

After asking where the bread and butter was I was presented with normal bread and butter. By the time the gluten free arrived I had finished my sarter!

The mains was all batter and minimal fish.....!

User

Stack 'em high and sell 'em low, cattle market type operation. Visited on a Sunday afternoon and the place was literally bursting at the seams. Horrendously long queue for food, grubby chipboard tables and average food/service. This place is clearly favoured by those looking for quantity over quality. Probably ideal for soaking up a hangover with the lads, but by no means a civilised dining experience. The place was so hot that diners were getting up and opening windows and doors. Not for me.

User

Booked a table for 5 and duly arrived for 1230 on 16/12/17. Ordered drinks, which arrived ok. Ordered 5 x caveries which having queued as you expect, was nice. When it came to ordering the sweets, we ordered from the waitress who looked about 12, 20 minutes later they still hadn’t arrived. In the end we cancelled the sweets as part of our group had to leave. If the sweets had arrived in a more timely manner it would have been fine. A little disappointed with the service. This needs to be improved.

User

We have had many Exellent meals and the staff have always been superb, but this Sunday Was not up to it's normal standard, food wise, the chef cutting the first slice of meat cut it So thin it's a wonder it kept together, the second slice must have been a slip because only about a third of the slice actually made my plate and the third slice was as bad as the first one, definately standards have fell, the vegetables were well under cooked. Not a pleasent way to celebrate my 72 birthday. This was unfortunate as we have always had Exellent service and well prepared food. We hope that the food standard returns. Waiting for reports from visiting friends who are visiting soon.
