Do you have a dreaded cartilage lump 😖, this is a very common complaint with cartilage piercings.
These lumps are known as Hypertrophic scarring - this occurs most often on ear or nose piercings. It can be a result of the healing process being interrupted.... The typical causes that can form piercing bumps are:
Irritation to the piercing - knocking and catching the piercing. Piercing with a gun Improper/Lack of aftercare
These Silicone Piercing Discs help to heal hypertrophic scarring; No more bumps!
The discs come in packs of 2 and different gauges to match your jewellery.
Small - Thickness: 1mm, Diameter - 3mm Medium - Thickness: 1.2mm, Diameter - 5mm Large - Thickness: 1.6mm, Diameter - 7mm
They are made from medical grade silicone. The disc lies between the inside of the piercing and the flat back of the jewellery.
"These Piercing Discs provide a comfortable barrier, which keeps the jewellery backing from causing irritation, additional swelling, or becoming embedded in the piercing. Piercings heal safely, quickly, without discomfort, and without anxiety!
Be sure to know the difference between an infection and a cartilage lump! An infected lump will likely be sore, red and may ooze small amounts of pus or blood. The most common lump and bump on piercing is a build-up of collagen, which your body creates when healing a scar. They do not present with oozing or pain.

The importance of downgrading your initial piercing jewellery length!
For some locations, downsizing is critical to the health and success of the piercing and it helps to stop the piercing from migrating.
Tongue, lip, and other oral piercings
... Downsizing is critical within 2 - 3 weeks of the initial piercing once the swelling has subsided. The longer jewellery, if left, can rub against your teeth causing damage.
Helix, conch, and flat piercings
Downsizing cartilage piercings is critical. This is generally done within 2 - 3 months in a sterile environment. If you sleep on the ear with the piercing there is a lot of pressure placed on the piercing site. This can change the angle over time and a perfectly placed piercing can end up looking wonky or migrating.
Some initial piercings are priced to reflect the first jewellery change. I also offer jewellery changes for £10 which includes the sterile titanium jewellery.

Took my daughter (aged 11) to have her ears pierced for the first time. Sarah was amazing and did a fantastic job. She didn't even flinch and said it didn't hurt. Definitely recommend it, tattoo shop was a friendly environment and i felt completely comfortable taking a child in there for her ears pierced not scary at all. Thank you.

Took my 8 year old in to get her ear lobes done today as didn't want to go down the traditional gun route. I was extremely pleased with the service, my little girl was really put at ease and said it only hurt a tiny bit. She's very happy with her new earrings. I would highly recommend.

Such a friendly environment and so gental went to get my septum done yesterday which didn’t go to plan but still come away with another lovely piercing �
