The Plough Beefeater

Went yesterday night. The steak meal was lovely. The best steak I've had in ages. Definitely go there again.

Michael was the best waiter ive encountered for a long time , thank you for being friendly helpful etc oh and the food was great

We love it here always go for the lunchtime menu, hardly any problems, we go so often the staff know exactly what we are ordering, staff are always really friendly especially Mike the waiter. My only gripe is why is there only one person serving of an evening (we go straight after school and when people start arriving one waitress/waiter is rushed off their feet trying to do all tables). We were there till 5.30 (over 2 hours) and that included ordering the min we walked in as we knew what we want (as do the staff). Took for ever to order the pud and then wait for it. Not blaming the waitress she was doing the best she could but honestly 2 staff would be a good idea.

We arrived around 6pm. Service was great and we're very understanding when food had to be sent back because the salad had a dressing on which I hadn't noticed until I tipped it on my plate. I have an allergy and so they not only changed my plate, but gave me fresh salad and fresh chips. Great service and food was lovely.

food was good BUT ..no vegetarian sausages or hash browns, so really i paid for something i didnt get.

The meal was lovely but they had no jacket potato's, quite shocking for a large restaurant chain considering it was a Sunday and only 1.15pm that we were eating. I also had a large, sharp piece of plastic in my prawn cocktail, was very lucky that i spotted it before eating it. Although when mentioned to the waitress we only received a brief apology. Apart from that the rest of the meal was enjoyable.

Arrived at about 10.45 pm with about 40 on a coach. Harvester nearby had closed early. Rang up to see if we could come in and they said yes. Good service and all staff friendly and polite. LUSC Vine Branch

9 of us turned up for a meal during an afternoon and the order came there seemed to be a few mix ups and a few minor things were wrong, mine was not right so I pointed it out and they changed it, took around 10 minutes to sort it and they discounted the bill to compensate that, the return meal had the wrong chips and the steak was not how I wanted it but to be fair it was a nice tasty meal and everyone in the party had no complaints about the taste. The staff were very nice and gave us a good service.

Went here on Saturday - clearly short staffed as we had 15 mins for our main to be brought to our table, after watching it and 14 other plates of food sit under the lights & staff just walk past it all!!! Had to send it back as it was stone cold when it eventually came to the table & get fresh made (additional chips never turned up either).

Well we waited about a minute at the desk while being ignored by 4 members of staff looking at something 5m away.

Then as we were contemplating leaving one of them came over as if nothing has happened.

Decided to stay but upon being seated we were told that on the special menu there was no beef, no salmon and no chicken, but the do have duck!!!!

Decided to have a look at the menu and in the end decided to stay and ordered. After that things got better. Food and wine were ok and came in good time but next time we are passing we will be going to the Harvester up the road.

I can see why they have a low score.

Staff were very good . Food not so good my steak was so tough I couldn't eat it .My daughters steak was burnt. Did reduce price on dinner.

The breakfast the following morning all crouisonts and pastrys were very over done.

Food was ok, but service was sooo slow! Took 30 mins for our first drinks order and the same for the second drinks order. Food came out fine, tried to order dessert, but menu never appeared after asking for it. Gave up in the end.

food was cold ,sent one back came back just been grilled to fuck soggy nachos no cutlery no atmosphere ,no sign of a manager wouldn't eat in there if you paid me to wouldn't advice anyone to waste there hard earned here

Would NOT recommend. Went with my husband for a casual friday evening dinner. Overall we felt it was overpriced for what it was - we had a voucher giving us 40% off our mains and would still not go back again even with the same discount.



One particular word of warning - the nacho's "sharer" is tiny - by far the smallest I have ever seen (and we have had nachos in lots of places all around the UK) and for £9 was also the most expensive I have ever had. it was barely bigger than a side plate and was apparently meant for both of us - definitely poor value for money there.



We should have raised this at the time but felt bad for the waiter who had already had to apologise to us once given they had run out of a few main dishes (by 8pm on a Friday - well planned Beefeater!). However, I did raise this online a few days later - the online feedback form is awful, it is not possible to attach a photo and it took over a week for someone to get back to me (bogged down with the volume of complaints maybe? I'm not surprised!). Without even asking to see the photo I had taken of our tiny starter they just said that all the portions are weighed so it must have been correct. According to them it is not possible that this "weighing step" could have been overlooked and they still did not even bother to ask me for the photo. I was incredulous that they are happy to fob me off without even asking me for the proof I said I had upfront. Just awful customer service. It is of course possible I am wrong and the "sharer" is meant to be tiny, but for £9 I'd still avoid this dish (and the whole chain quite frankly!) anyway as we felt it was extortionately priced - I mean, how much are a few tortilla chips really? And the lack of customer service afterwards is just terrible, no thought at all that some of us work hard for the cash to spend on meals out.



As mentioned, we will not be going back. Ever.

Very cool reception as we hadn't booked a table for two for a Thursday evening, (was told " we are very busy") service slow (waited ages just for our drinks), steaks very poor considering they were sirloin at £15.99 each - one was sent back as there was blood all over the plate (it was supposed to have been cooked medium) and was still underdone when it was returned to the table. Second one should also have gone back due to the amount of fat and gristle in it but by then we were losing the will ! When we complained to the waitress a second time we were told the 1st steak "looked medium to her". She offered to get the duty manager but because I asked "what will (s)he do?" she just walked off so we skipped the desserts we had planned, paid the over-priced bill and left. My family has been using this restaurant for many years but we won't be visiting again. Very disappointing.

Just had the worst breakfast ever. Water for tea was luke warm, breakfast luke warm, eggs were that snotty they ran into one , hash browns under cooked, bubble and squeak solid and pancakes were stale.

I took my mom here to get some lunch. We were seated and order drinks and ordered food after the waitress explained what food you didn't have. Over 25 minutes later (we are a third through a drinks) the waitress came over to say you didn't have the burger which I had ordered. As there isn't much choice for vegetarians I couldn't eat there now so we had to cancel our food order (we were hungry when we got there so by this point we were ready hungry so we had to go somewhere else to eat). So it took nearly half an hour to tell us and then we were charged for the drinks which we hadn't been able to finish �

Food was awful. My pie was half cooked and the boiled new potatoes looked very over done. My sons steak was burnt and in edible. I changed to cod and chips, even worse! Soggy batter and it was greasy and all you could taste was fat. Do not eat here it’s terrible. No wonder it was empty.



Complained to the manger who took it off the bill said sorry and left. So not only is the food a joke so is their customer service!! MacDonald’s have better food and service �

Awful place. Longbridge is so much better. Arrived at 8.30 for 9 people for a special birthday. The food came out at 9.50... we could see the food under the heater for a good 10 minutes. Still delivered warm food. Presentation was poor. Steak and chips for £20 not even a bit of garnish. Asked for condiments. Asked twice for gravy. We saw the gravy sitting there. Then saw the lady tip it into a jug and stirred the gravy to get rid of the hard on top. Waited 15minutes for our cocktails that didn’t even taste right? Rushed food and a slow sarcastic service.
