Ivo has just been interviewed on BBC radio 2, as we have uploaded our events! Funny... literally!

User

Ivo Graham
Apologetic Eton and Oxford alumnus Ivo started stand-up in 2009 at the age of eighteen and eight months later became the youngest ever winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny award for new acts at the Edinburgh Fringe. This led the following year to nominations for Chortle Best Newcomer and Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, and performances at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival and the Hollywood Fringe. Since leaving university in 2012 he has bec...ome a regular fixture in the clubs and theatres of the UK comedy circuit, with a gauche charm and crafty, self-aware wit which has proved a hit with audiences of all ages, and led to appearances on BBC3’s Edinburgh Comedy Fest Live, Comedy Central’s Live at the Comedy Store, and various shows on BBC Radio 4, Five Live, and XFM. His two solo hours, 2013’s Binoculars and 2014’s Bow Ties & Johnnies, had sold out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and London’s Soho Theatre, and received a clutch of four and five star reviews, the latter described by the Evening Standard as ‘a joyous show… if you like your comedy with long words and beautiful linguistic flourishes, buy a ticket immediately.’ Most recently he has appeared on both Live at the Apollo and Mock the Week.

A lovely message from Nicky at Compaid: On behalf of everyone at Compaid I would like to thank you and all the staff at Elite pubs for their support in our Summer Raffle.
Your kind donation of a voucher towards a meal at the Poacher and Partridge was very popular and helped us to raise an amazing £320 which will enable us to continue our work with disabled, elderly and vulnerable people around Kent.

We LOVE the Poacher! Fantastic location the garden bar has made it even better, although at Christmas its soo cosy and lovely in the main bar and restaurant too! AMAZING gin cocktails superb wine and 100% best fish n chips I've ever had.....all the staff are soo friendly and lovely and go out of their way, sometimes under HUGE pressure as they are generally always busy!! Highly recommend

Loved the food, drinks and band. Great garden pizza station and burger shack. Hidden gem. Will revisit ASAP. Wish it was my local.

User

I’m never disappointed when I go to the P&P. My friend had the goats cheese salad and said it was the best salad she’d ever had! The pub is beautiful inside, welcoming, well decorated, a big space which also manages to feel cosy. Our go to venue for any special occasion.

User

I live fairly close to this establishment but have never been there. Was recommended to try on a Saturday lunch with my daughter and mother in law. We got there just after 12 and it was already busy. We wee asked if we’d booked and we hadn’t but managed to get a table. Half an hour later both the restaurant and bar was full!

I had the pizza, I’m a Pizza addict and loved that you could see the open oven. I have to say it was THE best pizza I have ever had. My mother in law had a starter as her appetite is small but she was totally full. My daughter loves fish and chips and rather than a kiddies menu, this was a proper little fish!! My husband had a sandwich and chips and on pinching a chop, we both agreed they were amazing! Staff were attentive even when it was so busy. I feel we will be regulars from now on with a taxi as the wine rack looked amazing!!

User

Had my birthday dinner here, food was fantastic and staff were lovely, will definitely be back soon xx

User

Friendly great food fantastic views. I live in London and I definitely will be back.

User

Food is great, really good size beer garden and swings for the kids. The garden burgers shack is also open now.

User

First time yesterday lunch time and that good I went back in the afternoon , lovely and airy great food and wine , definitely going back

User

Excellent food, good atmosphere, friendly service and pleasant location. Slightly more expensive than average but worth it for the quality of food.

User

6 of us had the Christmas lunch menu on Wednesday. Staff had already put out little place names with food choices on so no need to try and remember! Lovely menu, my superfood salad, cod and chocolate marquise all delicious. The icing on the cake, only £20 a head for food, excellent value for money.

User

My husband booked a table for my birthday meal for 5.30 pm. On arrival we were chastised because he hadn't mentioned we needed space for a toddler and a babe in arms. It was not a great welcome to be honest, although the restaurant was empty and we said we didn't mind eating outside.

Having said that we had a very nice meal and the waitress was lovely.

The food was excellent with a very nice garden to sit out in and a good play area for the children.

I'm sure we will visit again but maybe will make use of the burger bar and garden.

User

My husband and I have visited The Poacher and Partridge a lot recently. It is lovely to sit in the garden and have drinks after work; they have a nice gin/cocktail/wine list. The food is great (they offer vegan options too, which is a bonus for me personally).

The staff are always friendly and there is generally a really nice atmosphere around the place.

The venue is dog friendly and they provide lots of water bowls too.

We are a fan of the burger shack however, I had the veggie burger which was a little dry if I were to be picky. Having said that, my partner had the beef burger and he said it was one of the best he has ever had.

We will definitely be visiting a lot more!

User

The staff were friendly and attentive, in general the food was very tasty. BUT (our only criticism) we were disappointed that the vegetable crisps that come with one dish are literally those vegetable crisps you can buy as a snack, and the salad looked and tasted like it had come out of a packet too.

Also, sauces like mayonnaise and mustard were bought to the table in their bottles rather than dishes. A small detail but it took the edge off somehow.

Generally okay, but not wowed, given it’s reputation.

User

Booked an early dinner for my daughter's 30th back in June. Considering we spent around £400, staff were uninterested in us and service was lacklustre! (Apart from the 1st waitress we had but she must of finished shift within 30mins). Lots of staff standing around chatting, tables outside uncleared and food average!! To top it all, they don't bother to answer emails through their website! Go elsewhere there are plenty of other restaurants in and around Tonbridge who serve better food and provide better customer service! Thoroughly disappointed.

User

Been a few times in the past and been fine, but today was a joke. Separate queues for food & drink?! Granted a busy day but made it double hard work for themselves not to mention many, many unhappy customers, not helped by attitudes of bar staff who were far less than helpful. In serious need of re-management or more staff. Did not work at all. Outside table service could have avoided the whole shambolic experience. Shame as is a lovely pub and beautiful location. Would avoid going on a warm sunny day again.
