What a beautiful atmospheric theatre.. needs to be supported x

Went to see Peter Pan with family, including a relative in a wheelchair. The staff were very helpful, getting the wheelchair into its space and securing it with a wedge to stop it rolling (other venues should take note!). The pantomime was excellent ..... all in all, a great night!

User

Watched Repunzel the Musical....Fantastic!

Comfy seats, boosters seats are at the back if needed, helpful at the box office, cheaper snacks than some places, no complaints, would recommend x

User

Thought it was great...we didn't have problem with sound and thought ok noise compared to other kids shows but agree not much point taking babies.

User

Thoroughly enjoyed monstersaurus yesterday! We will definitely be looking for more productions my three year old will enjoy. Lovely small venue. Thanks.

User

Saw swan lake and enjoyed the show the orchestra was faultless. It's a cozy little theatre with friendly staff would definitely visit again. It would have been more helpful for me to be able to take my seat earlier as there isn't enough seating in the foyer/bar and I can't stand for long.

I had an excellent birthday treat yesterday - Hobson's Choice. Apart from a few odd moments (understandable given the amount of work going on behind the scenes to bring us three plays) it was faultlessly performed.

Hobson himself was excellent - how we could possibly feel sorry for such an old curmudgeon by the end I don't know, but we did. I'm sure the company won't mind me saying that Maggie and Willie stole the show. Maggie commanded the stage wonderfully, and Willie's physical comedy was excruciatingly funny.

Thank you to the troupe - ope to see you all again in Chesterfield!

I can honestly say I've never come across a more helpful staff of people, especially Matt! My little boy is autistic and had massive sensory overload during a production. A helpful staff lady took us to Matt who spent a substantial amount of time with my son, helping to calm him down. Matt made sure both my children had refreshments during the interval (without having to go back in the room with the crowds) and returned back to us to help with my son afterwards. Carol then helped and ensured we were able to enjoy the second half. I'm eternally grateful and hope these people know how much their kindness made our day. Thank you so much for your help and kind words today.

User

Afternoon,

My family and I have just been to see "Dear zoo" (2 pm performance ).

The production was fantastic and my 5 year old son absolutely loved it.

We just want to say a HUGE thank you to the staff at the theatre. My 6 year old daughter has multiple special needs (and uses a wheelchair) and became extremely distressed from when the house lights went down. Although we tried we couldn't calm her so my husband left the theatre. He sat in the corrider and a lady came out of the office and suggested we tried the circle upstairs. There was also a male member of staff (apologies didn't catch anyone's name but he had blond hair) that brought my husband and daughter 2 chairs to sit on and let them come in and out of the theatre as they wished. The staff were extremely patient, kind and understanding of my daughter's needs. It means a lot when staff are helpful and non-judgmental and assist children like my daughter. Although she only managed 10 minutes in total the staffs positive attitude and willingness to help made the visit to the theatre a pleasure.

So thank you very much.

Kind regards

Rebecca & Family

A lovely theatre with friendly staff and a great place to watch films in too.

User

Went an watched Repunzal with my daughter with Down's syndrome she enjoyed all the experience so if she enjoyed it so did i 👍🏻

User

Really enjoyed Rapunzel. Nice theatre, booster seats available if needed. Not too far from a good sized car park. Can't comment on snack prices.

User

Love this theatre. Been there a few times and most recently, yesterday, went to watch 'Dunkirk'. The only very minor criticism is that although the sound system is great, it was a tad loud.

User

Very noisy throughout the show...know it's a childrens show but babies and new borns - really? No child booster seats .... expensive for such a short performance and....no popcorn!! When we asked at the bar if there was any, the girl waved her arms about as if to say. "Can you see any popcorn then..!" Story to the Room on a Broomstick show was quite novel ...would have enjoyed it more if we could have heard more...maybe better acoustics considering so many little children.

Went to see Alice In Wonderland (Easter Panto) today with my niece. We were less than impressed with the theatre, and how the staff handled this busy showing. Doors didn’t open for the panto (which was meant to start at 3) until about 2:55 at which point everybody had arrived and we were all cooped up in a small space and with a massive queue outside. To sort this situation the staff decided to ask people to queue up the stairs, so there were children packed up the stairs which looked a safety hazard. We eventually got let into the theatre to sit and the show started around 20 mins late. Although I don’t know if this is the theatres fault or not. During the interval we used the ladies in which had a very nasty smell and there was nowhere near enough facilities for all there. Due to the over running of the show and possibly low quality of the panto a lot of people left during the interval. We weren’t impressed with the theatre or the panto. After visiting this theatre before and having a lovely evening we were disappointed.

User

Just been to watch The Red Room by the Rumpus Theatre and it was the worst £40 I have ever spent. The best part of the performance was its short running time.

I know the Theatre can't be held responsible for such a terrible play but after leaving and finding out that they charge more than any other Theatre for this production, it does grate somewhat. If I had watched this in Crawley or London or Derby, I would only have lost out on £13 to £16 per ticket. I will seriously have to consider returning to the Pomegranate unless they start to offer more value for money.
