My first time here and what can say ! We had fab weather and great beer garden and excellent location! Didn’t have food only drink but the food looked amazing will be having food on my next visit! Also we had dog with us and they provided plenty of bowls for dogs too !

User

Lovely building - inside and out. One of those rare places where you get served straight away despite being busy. Superb food and coffee but I didn't partake of any of the various ales that are available. I didn't hear any complaints though! I will definitely visit the Inn again next time I'm in the area.

User

If you want good, hot, quick and good sized portion pub food then this is a 5*. Friendly atmosphere too. If and when we come back to the Lake District we’ll be eating here

User

Great place. Relaxed staff and the Whale and chips are excellent! I drove all the way from Shrewsbury to eat here (OK I was on my way home to Weardale). But worth waiting for

User

Excellent food, friendly staff and good drink too. Had the sweet chilli chicken sizzler which was a generous portion. Nice pint of hawkshead lager too

User

Absolutely amazing food , meat sharing platter, and beautiful setting. We were in a front balcony room and were able to sit with a wine and watch the world go by . Will definitely be back

User

A very busy day, staff couldn’t do enough for us really nice food even a taxi home well done guys you put the crown inn to shame!

User

Very well organised operation on an extremely busy bank holiday Monday. Peroni on tap and friendly towards dogs 🐶. A really cool pub worth a visit

User

Very friendly staff welcomed us only had a drink no food but looked nice inside we sat outside with our dog

User

Great location ..enormous fish and chips ..wasn't enough staff on for a busy weekend although food came with in 20 mins it took 40 mins to buy a pint with obviously not happy over worked and miserable bar staff . For that reason 4 stars out of 5

User

We booked a table for Easter Sunday evening staff were not interested, had to go to bar to ask for a menu that’s when they told us that the only food they had was what was left on the specials board which was a choice of three meals we decide to leave as we were leaving a member of staff said thank you to us we said what for she couldn’t answer we went across the road to the Crown who although they were chock a block asked to wait at the bar while they sorted a table out for us, their full menu apart from onion rings were available, staff were very attentive and food was good

User

Staff were lovely, unfortunately beware the man who walks round being extremely rude to customers if you have a problem with anything, he comes across as a member of staff, this is Not the case, turns out he is the taxi driver

The issue could have been easily resolved, but unfortunately if the owners of the inn let people like him pretend he is staff then I definitely will not be returning, shame, he could be the down fall of the place!

If not for him the score and review would have been a lot higher

User

Turned up here at 7.50 to order food as it says online they serve food untill 8.30. When we arrived to ask for a menu we very rudely told that they were no longer serving food.. but yet there was people ordering food just before us.. the mannors of the bar staff was shocking and very rude.. we then phoned outside on the car park to check what time they served food untill which we were told on the phone they would be serving for another 45 minutes.. untill I asked why we were just at the bar and was told they had stopped and then the times changed again... make up your mind.. if it's states they serve untill 8.30 then why was this not the case?? And the worst thing was the staffs behaviour and the rudeness in which we were told this... a simple polite explanation would of solved our frustration.. Will never return after the rudeness of the staff.
