The Portsmouth Chorus

About The Portsmouth Chorus

A choir for all who love singing! We perform a mix of choral, pop and show songs in SATB arrangement with piano accompaniment.

The Portsmouth Chorus Description

Experience the joy of serious singing together with friends!

The Portsmouth Chorus, formerly the Portsmouth Glee Club, is a Portsmouth based choir founded in 1930 by the late Harold Hall. We sing a variety of music in the traditional 4-part voice arrangement with piano accompaniment.

We perform three major concerts a year supported by professional artists in venues such as the Portsmouth Anglican Cathedral and the New Theatre Royal.

Our Musical Director is Mark Burgess. Mark is a Guildhall trained organist, Fellow of the Royal College of Organists and teaches at the Open University and local schools. His idea of directing a choir is that we should have fun!

Come And Join Us!

We're always happy to welcome new members, so why not come along and have a go at singing in a choir? We rehearse on Monday evenings, 19: 15 - 21: 00, at St Colman's Catholic Church, Cosham. The cost for members is £2. 50 per week.
