The long-established pub The Powell is the oldest hostelry in Birchington. Named after Squire Powell of Quex, the High Sheriff of Kent in 1823.
Enjoy elegance, soft hues and classic touches which accentuate the original features of the building.
Join us for Fine dining in our Restaurant, Tuesday to Saturday from 18: 30pm - 21: 00 or for a more traditional pub lunch Monday - Saturday 12: 00 - 15: 00pm.
Fancy a roast? Then join us on Sundays 12: 00 - 17: 00pm, Book to avoid disappointment!

We got invited for a xmas meal on the 16th December... first stop was the toilets before we sat down.. WOW how amazing are they had a posh wee.. then the restaurant area was lovely names tags with your order on the back with a very xmas touch on the tables... all staff was very friendly and kind.. and the food was out of this world.. delicious � had a live band on listen to that while eatting our xmas meals... Defo coming back with the family xx
We celebrated my wifes birthday with dinner at the Powell on Thursday 18th May with my family on an unfortunate rainy night.
Very good choice on menu, excellent food, intentive service, super bar staff.

Took my Father in law for lunch yesterday with my boys , 16 and 10, and had a super lunch. The Powell burger was delicious � highly recommend.
This is a great restaurant we all (30 of us) enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch. The service was good and the staff very friendly
The food at the Powell was amazing, we were visiting Canterbury for the weekend and found this pub by mistake. The food and service were great and to top it off there were 2 singers in the bar that were great so overall a great enjoyable day. We will definitely be back on our next visit
The Powell Arms is a wonderful relaxing place to eat. Although the food is a little on the pricey side,it is so delicious and worth every penny!. A beautiful historic building with lovely features. Staff are very welcoming. Highly recommended �
Really enjoyed afternoon tea for 6 people Hot drinks were refillable and we had a lot!! Plenty of sandwichs, sausage rolls, scones, cakes, etc infact brought loads home! Great value costing only £12 for 2 people. Would highly recommend and staff were great too!
My local pub , I knew the food was good from the sunday dinners I have had in there ( Best around by far) but last night I had possibly the best bit of steak I have ever eaten , hats of to the young chef - amazing food. had a great evening in there . would recommend it to anyone !!!
Lovely recently refurbished bar/restaurant I had been in before for a beer but the meal last night was outstanding. Friendly staff (Katie was a star) and great menu. Well done guys..I hope it works for you as it is a lovely and professional venue.

Had a lovely meal with my husband and his sister. We all had different meals, but they were all very nice. The wine was excellent. Wanted the espresso brûlée but it had been sold out the day before.
