Recently came over to this surgery. Fantastic reception staff, nice smily faces and efficient in every manor. It was a breath of fresh air. Doctor was nice and gave me the time needed.

Hospital staff do a great job but the government balls it up by taking the piss over the carpark so it cost to much to see your loved ones

My mum was treated with dignity . She has been kept comfortable. Staff were very lovely and always happy to help even under pressure.

My husband has been there 9 days. He was admitted with a swollen, painful knee.
He suffers with liver problems which has been pointed out daily on countless occassions. Sadly no one appeared to listen or care until the damage had been done.
He had been fed morphine based painkillers from arrival and is now suffering the effects of overdose as his liver could not process the amount given. They are trying to reverse the effects.
He is still there now, much worse then I have ever seen.
I only hope the damage is not as severe as it appears to be.

I met with a GP today called Verna Goyle who was nothing short of shocking.

She told me she to explain my situation and then proceeded to tell me she isn't interested in the details (shortness of breath, chest pain, palpitations etc) multiple times.

Considering I had been referred by 111 for shortness of breath and chest pains for over an hour you would expect the GP to be 'interested' in the details.

Blood all over the female toilet floor!
The blood has dried and is clearly old and is splattered up the walls: smeared all around the toilet and floor.

That aside- the skirting boards and appliances in the bathroom are also covered in thick layers of dust and grime.

Very concerning for a number of reasons.

I cannot agree/disagree with all positive/negative comments. Overall i am giving 5 star for my own personal experiences, my 4 kids were all born here, 3 boys, 1 girl. & another baby on the way will be born here! Sophie my eldest had Jaundice where she was put under basically a baby sunbed & got colour into her, she is 13 years old on 31st Aug 2017. Lois 11 was born with the cord around her neck & they saved her even though she was a bluey purple colour. Danielle 4 now was born no problems if i can recall, Oliver now 2 i think had complications in birth like took too much water in i think. I thought he was dead again a purple colour, but he was fine also. Great team that worked quickly/competently & with minimum fuss. No problems there! Obviously A&E is overcrowded, long waiting times etc. But the maternity/labour ward fantastic.

Is 1 o'clock in the night. My 2 years old daughter is having a coughing from 10 o'clock without any stop. She had a vomiting episode 10.30 full of mucus who make me to call 111.
After 1h20m the doctor recommend saline drops in the morning. Or to go to nearest hospital.
I said instead of going there directly just for another's saline drops prescription to call.
I CALL TWICE AT PRINCESS ALEXANDRA HOSPITAL AND THE SAME LADY ANSWERS.
SHE ASK ME TO CALL THE GP, AS IT SHOULD GIVE ANOTHER LOCAL NUMBER.
I TRY TO EXPLAIN HER THE GP IS NOT GIVING THIS INFORMATION... THE ONLY MESSAGE IS TO CALL 999 OR 111.
BUT THIS INDOLENT OPERATOR KEEP TELLING ME TO CALL THE GP.
MY DAUGHTER IS STILL COUGHING AT EVERY 3 BREADINGS AND SHE IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD.
DO I HAVE TO CALL 999 NOW?

Disappointed, I went with my toddler and was assured he was fine and I was just being a mother! Means I worry for no good reason. While he really had a problem that they couldn't detect, but just because I couldn't refer to it directly as I am no Dr myself, then they didn't look at it either! I feel helpless and the need to be a Dr myself to help myself out and my children and not be taken easy when I am worrying, mum's worry is Always TRUE even if she cannot point directly to the cause.

Our son was born here 7 months ago in the birthing unit and the midwives and after care were excellent. I also had to have a tumour removed from my salivary glad last week. The procedure was a complete success and the stiches were very neat meaning there will be less scarring. Prior to the operation I had many tests and scans and everything happened on time and in a very professional manner. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. They do a great job

GP sent me to emergency ENT clinic via the A+E. Seen by ENT doctor who said I would receive an appointment to go back within 1 to 2 weeks. 2 weeks is up and heard nothing, rang and spoke to two different people in ENT appointments. It appears that my visit hasn't even been recorded and they insisted that I have not been to the hospital since April last year. Most unhelpful, said they were going to transfer me to someone else and the line just went dead. This hospital is in meltdown. I can see why its in special measures.

My frail elderly mother was treated with a very swift, efficient and caring service despite the A & E dept being 'oversubscribed' and waiting in a queue in a corridor. The staff were brilliant and I can't thank them enough

Currently waiting for over an hour for an eye appointment. Doctors and nurses appear to be wandering aimlessly around the corridors with only one among to take appointments. I'm in the emergency clinic but follow up appointments are mixed up amongst urgent cases meaning everyone has to wait a stupid amount of time. Reception staff seem disinterested and rude, presumably because they are taking the brunt of the angry customers frustration. I've been unfortunate that we've needed urgent care for two children in the last month due to accidents/injuries and can honestly say that the service is on its knees. We tried all other options for treatment before atrending the hospital. 10 hours in A and E on one occasion and surrounded by toddlers with runny noses rather than genuine emergencies. If the aim of the hospital is to suck all hope and joy out of your life then they are succeeding. Come on government find the NHS properly. I'd rather pay more taxes if it meant a service that I could trust and rely on.

I had the misfortune of falling ill,I made my way to A&E clutching a letter from my GP.
On my arrival from the receptionist to my admittances and through out my stay, the staff we're fantastic,no task was to small. The ward staff went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable and took their time to explain what was going on.
I was then discharge to their care at home team to carry on with the treatment,I received nothing but professional and excellent care, even some humor which helped tremendously. Thank you all for taking the time to ensure I am on the road to recovery.
