This is a gorgeous pub that we stumbled across in May! It's aprox 45 mins drive for us but we now come over a couple of times a month. It's got a great play area for the children, friendly staff, a great range of drinks & lovely food! We feel like it's a real treat to go here!

User

Really good food !! Lovely staff !! Family friendly pub !! And very well priced highly recommend X

Me and my friend ate lunch at the punch bowl on the 5.7.17 and was amazed with the service and how friendly the staff and chef were. We both had the 3 cheese pie with beans and chips and it was to die for. Never had a cheese pie so tasty it was delicious. We are now going to be having lunch together at the punch bowl regularly. The staff couldnt have been more helpful the gentleman brought our drinks over promptly. The chef did an amazing job with food and we sent our compliments about the food to him he also came out to ask if we had enjoyed our meal. We also had a dessert each i chose the chocolate fudge cake and ice cream and my friend the caramel apple betty omg i was so full but couldnt stop eating the delicious desserts. We will certainly be eating lunch regularly at the punch bowl and cannot wait to try a different meal next time round. Thank you to all the staff and chef at the punch bowl for making it such an enjoyable experience. Love it .xxx

Just passing and craving a bacon egg butty on Saturday morning we saw the sign for full-english breakfast. We had our dog with us but could see someone sat outside with a dog so thought excellent! The lady in the pub was very helpful and friendly . brought out some water for the dog. brought water with ice out too (hot day) . We both got full-English brekkie. I cant comment on black pudding and mushrooms because we do not like them. The price was £6.95 and included unlimited tea coffee and from a machine so we had nice cappuccinos. The bacon and sausage were good quality (she advised from a local butcher) Not been here for years but will definitely return. Really great service from this lady as quite a few customers for her to deal with. :) :)

User

User

Second visit and the food was really good the waitress said we don’t make posh food we make good food and it certainly was and really attentive staff, will definitely go again.

User

Ate lunch here today with my parents, husband and son. We ordered roasts, the salmon in tarragon sauce and the 3 cheese pie and all were delicious. Service was a little slow but the food was worth the wait and the waitress was very obliging. We will return.

User

The food looked amazing, shame we didn’t get to eat any., after waiting over an hour for food that didn’t arrive we asked for a refund and left, wasn’t too busy and customers surrounding us also had been waiting a very long time. We had a toddler so couldn’t really wait much longer, when we enquired as to what was going on there was no real explanation. Staff were friendly enough though. We had also waited 25 mins for a coffee but I think that was a genuine error, the server was truly apologetic. Had we been told the wait would be so long we would have gone elsewhere, I think it was poor communication really

User

Went to punch bowl today and was disappointed with the food, had a Sunday roast and it was swimming in gravy and looked like it thrown on the plate, not presentable at all. had to send the pints of coke back as it was flat got it changed to be flat again then got another pint of coke to be flat again but still charged us for it. Won’t be returning

User

We called because our granddaughters had got to the hungry stage. We ordered a pizza meal which was nothing more than half of a white tea cake with tomato puree on and cheese the chips were of the frozen sort but had lots of black eyes on that our girls wouldn't eat. Would not go back

User

Called here on way back from Skipton. Visited last year it was excellent but not so now home made meat and potato pie costing £9 would only just feed a child my chicken was dry and tasteless sorry don’t know what has happened here but will not be calling again. The only saving grace was the lovely barmaid who was rushed off her feet

User

I was really disappointed today (3/8/17) we went and it took 15 min before they asked us for drinks order and was told would be straight back for good order but took another 15 min then over an hour for good to arrive ... the order was wrong but was easily ammended the burger was well over prices for quality didn't have that star quality about it a bit of seasoning would of been nice ... the smothered chicken was lovely couldn't fault however we got a child's meal for my 8 month old (they knew his age as they asked) he got chicken nuggets it came with chips and beans .. I tasted to make sure wasn't to hot and the chicken nuggets tastes very salty I held up and could actually see all the salt in them which isn't very good for a child's meal! Also the beans tasted reheated. . Overall I was really disappointed with the service and food definatley over priced!
