You couldn't fault the service, & the food was amazing. It was my first visit & also the first time I'd tried an Indian seafood platter. Wow.

We too retired to the piano bar upstairs though sadly the pianist was off. Though it was still a lovely lounge area to relax & talk, & again the staff were still attentive.

We went to The Raj on 8:11:2016 Tues evening to celebrate my partners birthday with my daughter and her partner.

I forgot to book so obviously it was busy but by the time we got a drink our table was ready.

We were placed at the far end of the restaurant which is fine but then they began to set a table for a massive party...

When they arrived it was cramped n they were so close to us it was uncomfortable

We asked the lovely young lady if we could move within 10 minutes we were sitting upstairs where it was so much quieter n cooler..

This space should be used more often for people who enjoy quiet dining.

I'm usually a Tilka Massala kinda girl but I tried the Garlic chicken supreme

It was amazing

My son in law wanted chicken jalfrezi but only lamb was on the menu but they made him it nothing is too much trouble.

The food is always hot presented well and full of flavour .

Great value for money.

They obviously heard us talking about my partners birthday and at the end of the meal he was presented with a piece of warm chocolate cake with a candle in..

A nice touch..

We've been coming for 2 years now..

We love this restaurant and staff have been fantastic in all the times we have visited...ignore any bad comments people make,if the place is full and that pretty much shows what its like your gonna expect a bit of a wait like anywhere...these people need to get there heads out there ass who complain...been going here for 20 years love it love it.....Well done Goyas and the crew

Spent the evening at the Raj last night, absolutely beautiful food and to top it off the service was brilliant, highly recommended!

My first Indian meal. I wasn't sure about going but I absolutely loved it... The meat was melt in your mouth... The food was excellent and the place is so clean and great people serving.. Now I want to go again... We all do... We were a party of six and five of us hadn't been before... But we will again because we all loved it.... Ohhh I wish I'd tried it years ago...

Lovely staff, very well organised. Food lovely and very quick service. R91 bar very cosy to sit in for a drink whilst waiting for ur cab and the additional of Guy Martin's Tyco Suzuki to look at made it a good nite all round. Would definitely recommend 👍

I’ve never eaten in an Indian restaurant before so wanted a proper experience and I got it. Excellent venue, great service and the food was absolutely amazing. Will I go back? That’s a definite yes.

If we want to treat ourselves this is where we go because the food's always great and the staff are lovely. We often ring and ask for dishes that are either not on their menu or altered to cater for my husband's food allergies.... Gaz and his staff couldn't be more helpful. Can't recommend it enough, If you want Indian food this is the place to go!

Excellent service couldn't fault it, beautifully cooked food, such a good selection... enjoyed relaxing in the Shisha lounge too with a little smoke �

By far the best Indian meal I have had. Each dish was full of flavour - varied in taste and spice.



We ordered vegetarian and meat dishes - bindhi curry, aloo chaat, mixed tandoori selection, tandoori prawns: each dish was well cooked, flavoured with a range of spices and served by polite and helpful staff.



Every dish was cooked to our own tastes and we were very well looked after throughout the night.



Really looking forward to our next night out there. The only place I would choose for a curry.

Amazing restaurant and fabulous food! You cannot beat the staff, especially Gas, very friendly and professional owner who has time for his customers.

Perfect for couples or groups, we bring our course delegates here and the service and food is always top notch with over 30people.

Amazing ! The food, the atmosphere, the service, other Indian restaurants will not be the same anymore ! I've been spoilt !

My partner and I have been to The Raj on a few occasions now. We went last night and the food was faultless, the service was second to none as always and the friendly staff were very accommodating. After the meal we decided to go upstairs to the R91 lounge for some cocktails. And unfortunately since our last visit things have changed. There used to be very comfortable sofas that you could fall into and relax, much to our dissapointment these sofas have now gone and have been replaced by chairs. It didn't feel very intimate and almost a bit like a waiting room.

It's a shame about the this because everything else was perfect, and all in all we both had a very enjoyable evening

My friends and I enjoyed an evening at The Raj on Saturday. Great food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. We have been many times before and will continue to do so in the future.

Food and service was great ! Cobra on draught bang on. Fresh popadoms with lime chutney and onions perfect. No complaints, competitively priced and will be back again. We enjoyed the experience.

The food was lovely but the service was poor! Once we were seated no-one came to see to us so had to go up to a member of staff to get menus, the food then took a long time to come out and the people on table near us who came in after us were already eating theirs! When the food finally came out the order was wrong! They had missed 2 items off and gave us a random item we hadn't ordered! Plus we were charged for poppadoms and dips that we never asked for, they were just put on table so assumed were complimentary! The meal i had was sooo good though! I will still go back and hope the service better next time!
