The Reach Climbing Wall

We've been several times and loved it but tonight our instructor, Matt, was outstanding. He was so funny and fun! He made my boy feel really special as it was his birthday. Thank you Matt and co!

Together with my stepson Jack (15 years old), this weekend we took the 6 hour basic skills course at The Reach (top class indoor climbing facility). Being petrified of heights it really took me out of my comfort zone. Instructor Paul was superb, very experienced and professional but with an entertaining and fun approach, emphasising safety all the way, magic classmates as well. Indoor climbing is a great workout for all parts of the body and a real family bonding activity where you rely on each other from start to finish. Registered as members and looking forward to next time.

The Reach is the best of the London climbing centres and excels in courses on offer, helpful and friendly staff. I have been climbing for a few years, and thoroughly enjoy visiting the Reach. My two boys have developed from novice to NICAS 2 and lead climbing, all through the training at the Reach. The climbing routes on offer are always being developed to mean there is something new on offer, both top rope/lead and bouldering!

Also, the cafe inside does a great range in food and some amazing homemade cake, which is very welcome after challenging yourself on the wall!!

The Lead course with Graham was amazing. I've been climbing for about a year now and have wanted to lead ever since I saw it at the Reach (and especially since they installed the project - an extreme lead only overhang). Thanks to Graham's thorough introduction to lead climbing and belaying I feel confident to continue to develop my skills and feel equipped to start venturing outdoors where it's difficult to find good top rope.

My son completed the level one climbing today and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The staff are knowledgeable, supportive and delight in the successes . He’s booked onto level 2 now...he’s found a new sport that he loves! Thank you

My daughter is 13 and loved it. She was in a small group of 6 at first. The children helped each other at first along side the instructor who was very friendly. Then they were allowed to climb on their own, with the instructor encouraging them when needed. Highly recommend.

My daughter had her birthday party at The Reach on Saturday and it was absolutely brilliant! The girls had so much fun and all tried their best. Some were nervous to start with but our instructor was fabulous and encouraged the girls and helped them find their way. It was lovely to see the girls encouraging each other too and they were all so proud of their achievements. I can’t rate this highly enough. It’s the best money I have ever spent on a party! Thank you! X

Me and 2 friends climb every Sunday, such a friendly place anyone will help with anything you need, not just the staff and the climbers will as well! Best way to get fit without it feeling like exercise!

I have just completed my second day of the basic skills course and it was an awesome experience! First time I have ever stepped into a climbing hall and The Reach is unbelievably amazing! The instructor who took me through this fun journey, Paul, is simply great! This course gave me exactly what I needed to push myself more and also feel more comfortable with getting into a climbing adventure! I enjoyed every single second of it and I can't wait to go back climbing there next weekend. Thanks!

I came with my university and I have to say it was AMAZING !! Thank you to all the instructors present that day especially Ed! I had so much fun and enjoyed every moment of it.



Great indoor climbing centre with walls avaiblle for all climbing ability. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

I came down to the Reach for their annual comp. I've never attended one before, so didn't know what to expect - staff were awesome really friendly and fun, centre is great loads of awesome routes and the whole day was a blast. Will definitely be returning to battle the eliminator again... many thanks to everyone at the centre! I'm afraid I don't live in London so cant make use of the free month's membership they were kind enough to provide me, but will pass it on to a friend. Thanks again see you next year!

Excellent instruction that was not only focused on the foundation of climbing technique but on a broader understanding of the subject. Worth every penny and would gladly recommend this to anyone. Thanks again to the reach and Paul.

Brilliant climbing centre. Plenty of bouldering and auto belay. Ceiling overhang is very good, level from 6a above. Not enough choices of corner to practice Bridge though. Very clean toilet. Route changes very often. Cafe upstairs have good salad and wrap. Staff r very friendly and kids are allowed to climb at any age but must be supervised.



Key points: ceiling, autobelay, bouldering, chicken salad.

Been there a few times, always enjoyed it. Have brought all ages along, all left worn out saying how good it is. Amazing amount of climbs to choose from. Staff are very professional.

Always have a great time here. Such helpful and friendly staff. Great facilities with lots of climbing options from basic to experienced.

The upstairs cafe is a treat too!!

Always a good experience here. Bouldering areas, top rope and lead rope climbing. A good cafe too. You do need some knowledge to start. We did a course hete and haven't looked back. Staff very good. A little bit too busy for me on this visit though.

I've not climbed here in a while due to nerve damage in my arm.

But the Reach is a nice indoor climbing centre, it did suffer with it being fairly quiet throughout the week, but it's a great way to stay in shape, and progress in a new skill.

A great climbing wall sadly let down by it’s staff, at least the one I had dealings with. The facilities were excellent, great roped climbing and bouldering. The cafe seemed very good but I never used it. The staff really let it down. Would I go again? Probably but hopefully there will be someone different at the reception desk.

The instructor my 12 year old son & his friends had was rude & obnoxious. My son said he was rude towards the kids in his group & kept calling him & the other boys Mrs the whole time, when he told my son to jump of the wall he hit his head and was told get over it Mrs. I recommend you have your staff update their customer service skills & teach them about anti bullying Especially when dealing with children �
