Staff are nice and friendly, waiting time on the food was quick and food was really nice I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

What's not to love, lovely walk behind pub, dog friendly, lovely staff really quick service for food which was delicious, staff on the go all the time cleaning, collecting glasses and even bringing the dog a treat. Well worth a visit folks xx

The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. Its my Birthday on the 19th will be back then. Have been recommending it to all my friends.

Went for a meal with daughter sister and niece on way to arena last night we had steak special it was beautiful and well worth money, staff were friendly and pub was lovely and clean will be returning

We popped in one Sunday, as noticed they were dog friendly, after a walk at Chopwell Woods. What a lovely pub. Very friendly staff and gorgeous food. We had the roast beef baps.. portion of homemade chunky chips and onion rings. Would highly recommend and definitely go back if in the area.

We often call in for Sunday lunch with our dog, it's very dog friendly and portions are very generous. We had the hot afternoon tea there this week and it was amazing! The staff were so friendly and helpful and my teapot was never empty! I would suggest going very hungry so you can manage it all, yorkie beef wraps, chips and fish balls filled us up! We had to rest between that and the mini cream scones which were delucious (we hot 4 each!) Then we struggled eating the lovely cake selection. Highly recommend this x

We booked the afternoon tea (£25 for 2 people; you have to book and can't just order it when you arrive) and chose the hot selection. When we turned up we were seated straight away and the food - huge, beautifully presented, amounts of it - arrived a few minutes later. They have really thought about what people would enjoy, and added some unusual touches such as the little bottles of milk shake. All of it was delicious.

Visiting our relatives in Newcastle and we had a great meal at The Red Kite tonight. Lovely place, yummy fresh food and friendly staff. Great service, many thanks.

Came down for Guyfawkes with family.

Called in earlier today with my boxer puppy. We got a warm welcome however the dog got a better welcome than me�.

Called in at teatime for food, with my dad and daughter. Food was tasty with good portions and the staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going back soon

Ate outside after a lovely walk along the river. Lovely food and very dog friendly -the waitress brought a clean water bowl out to our table without being asked .

Absolutely lovely!!!! nice atmosphere and decor accommodating and friendly staff especially as we did not pre book a table for 12!!! And to top it off the food was beautiful and well presented definitely go back . Beer garden great too �

Went for Sunday dinner, I had the beef and my wife had the fish pie. My food was nice apart from the soggy Yorkshire pudding and the fish pie consisted of mainly salmon. The staff were wonderful and we would eat there again but probably through the week instead of Sunday!

We live local but to our embarrassment always seem to go further afield to eat out, however, we tried the Red Kite yesterday and the food was delicious. I had pork loin Sunday dinner and the meat was melt in the mouth gorgeous. Hubby had the beef and polished if off without any grumbles. Finished with sticky toffee pudding and custard. Ate the lot but have had better puddings. Staff were polite and attentive and would defo go back.

Good location friendly atmosphere and good food, young girl that served our table was very nice and helpful, as my daughter needed advice on the menu. Date 30/3/18

Called in a couple weeks for the first time for Sunday lunch was very impressed food was lovely plenty of it excellent staff very helpful will definitely be going back

Always friendly and welcome staff, child and dog friendly drinks first class! Been when they had an outside BBQ and pizza oven place was packed overall good relaxing pub

After a lovely walk we enjoyed a outdoor Greek style barbaque food very nice staff brilliant this pub is dog friendly .

We stopped off here for dinner last Sunday after a walk in gibside, my partner had the fish and chips but they were all out of garden peas and he won't eat mushy so he had no greenary on his plate although he said he enjoyed what he had. I opted for a roast beef dinner but checked before I ordered that the beef was served pink, it was explained to me by the lovely waitress that actually the meat was fully cooked through... glad I had asked and opted for the roast chicken lunch instead, over all not really impressed with it, it was nothing like roast chicken and just a skinless chicken breast on a plate with two roast potatoes. It tasted fine for what it was but just not amazing and I'm the kind of person that gets a bit disappointed spending money to eat out when you could have done better at home. Can't fault the staff, they were lovely and the pub is in such a pretty spot, with a few tweaks this place could be 5*

We all went down there to have a family lunch and we all had the beef but everything was cold we ate it as we were hungry then we had the toffee pudding which was nice but cold don’t think I would go there again xx

Had kofta as a starter which was over cooked usally get 2 at other places but only got one which was almost as thin as the stick it was on.

My main was bacon,brie and cranberry bagette (as i love comblnation of the three and bagettes).When it arrived there was no cranberry and the bagette was soft more like a long bun.so disappointed and i only ate the centre and left the bun .

My granddaughter (2 years old )had a childs fish and chips which were realy nice.We then ordered a fruit shoot which i think at nealy £2 was abit of a rip off.

I wouldnt rush to go back to be honest as wasnt cheap and either didnt realy get what i asked for or as with the starter overcooked and bulked out with salad and eye spy to find the lamb kofta

We went for a birthday and they got our drinks wrong then when our meal came the chicken was cold and out chips tasted of fish they were obviously cooked in same oil was disappointed

Very disappointed. Definitely a drop in the standard of food. The tea plate of veg my partner got with his meal was pathetic. Also, the manager (assuming that’s who he was. Short, dark hair, blue check shirt) was more interested in eating and having a cuppa than actually serving. Incorrect drinks order, low standard food and we had to go to the bar to ask and pay our bill as no one bothered to come over to clear the table or ask if we wanted anything else. We won’t be rushing back any time soon.

Edited 10/07: no where near as good as the first time. No check backs, food tasted weird and waited ages to pay even though there was only 3 tables in. No one asked what we thought of the food. Went in at 6:20 for the early bird only to be told it finished at 6pm, advertised as 6:30.



Called in for food after checking the menu out online (I'm really fussy) it exceeded my expectations and it was the nicest lasagne I have ever had! Great to know I can take the pooch too - We'll be back!

1st time ever I have disliked the food. My hubby had Thai linguini with chicken and chorizo-most bizarre concoction of ingredients! I had the belly pork with crackling which was horrible-not sure if they freeze the cracking but it so rubbery and in edible. Very disappointing
