We went today with our two girls aged 5 and 5 months and simply had the most amazing afternoon.
The hosts and staff were incredible and had the attentive balance spot on ensuring they did everything possible to make our time enjoyable and made a lovely fuss over the kids. They were also fantastic at making recommendations.
The food was awesome. Highly recommend fish and chips the best I have ever had. Bread and butter fried pudding with rum ice cream - I am still feeling satisfactory full! I also loved the fact that they offer decent food for the kids simply mini dishes of the adult food, something a lot of establishments don't offer.
Thank you so much to all that made our afternoon so enjoyable.
We will be recommending and returning to this lovely place often. :)
We booked for Mother's Day as they offered their normal Sunday menu. There were 14 of us. The food was lovely(We all had the roast.) The staff were very attentive. We will definitely be going back.
Really friendly staff, Great food and lovely surroundings. Highly recommend.
Passing through the area and popped in here for lunch last Thursday - good atmosphere with a friendly welcome from all the staff . Food was delicious - Haloumi Burger was best I've had and Lemon Posset was smooth and creamy - thoroughly enjoyed it - will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. So nice to find a pub not in a huge chain with all the same things on the menu.
Ok I am being serious, today me and my good lady were visiting near the Red Lion and decided to book ahead for sunday lunch after google search I found the Red Lion to be the nearest place to our destination. Now I am only going to make one simple statement about this place "easily by some distance the most hospitable eatery Ive been to in some time, the Sunday dinner was by far the best I have EVER had" thank you to the chef, staff, manager everyone it was a great experience. We will be sure to come back again from Brighton very soon. Oh and the Guiness is as good as you get in dublin!
Lovely good we had the ploughmans which was so big we couldn't eat it all.
Had a great lunch time meal as normal xxx then had a fab chat with Greg and Angelina (I hope I got the names right) hope to see u all again soon xxx
Alway get a hello from one of the owner's there and has no problem with the kids. Great place A* place
Great, proper pub, does everything you need, great selection of beer, food ok,( not pretentious ). It's been the heart of the village forever...

Great place to eat, attentive staff, good drink and fantastic tasty food. Summer and her team treated us really well tonight thank you.
Great new pub and restaurant with fantastic food and very friendly and helpful staff. I will recommend to everyone and hope that word of mouth gets round quickly so that it can get busy. Well done to everyone involved in its success.
Great food, great service, dog friendly, good for kids

Fantastic food , beautiful pub and garden , brilliant friendly service . Kid friendly garden . And Pete the landlord always makes a special effort with my boys . Total Gentleman x
Brilliant food, perfect hospitality and customer service! Thank you for making today such a lovely meal for my mother and father in laws golden anniversary! We can't wait to visit again!
We ate here for my boyfriends birthday with his family. The food was absolutely delicious despite them running out of cauliflower cheese for our order! The waitress were friendly but the service seemed a bit disorganised and perhaps they are in need of a bit more training. I would still recommend this pub and will definitely return
Oh dear Red lion. What happened? We used to visit regularly and were always blown away by the quality of the food and the great portion sizes. Staff used to be attentive and genuine.
Unfortunately 2 Sunday's in a row I have been massively disappointed by both the food and the service. The first visit was by far the worst. Chips that tasted of cooking oil and were inedible. Next to no service and waiting 30 minutes for a bill that never came. Followed by this Sunday where 7 of us dined and were brought the wrong food. Undercooked food. Watery cauliflower cheese. Nobody checked on us, no offer of more drinks etc and then made to feel like we were a nuisance when we asked for the bill and wanted to pay separately.
Honestly I'm not sure if we will be back.
