Would just like to thank The Refinery for my family brunch yesterday. After attending my brothers wedding the day/night before a long leisurely brunch was just what the doctor ordered and everything was executed fantastically. Everything I had requested - juice, pastries and bubbles were all as planned (bubbles were ice cold - always a plus!), all the staff were friendly, attentive and efficient and the food was lovely. The restaurant itself is beautiful and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Refinery and just wish I had discovered it when I lived in London!

Took my boyfriend for lunch on a day out for his birthday, after hours in the rain this place really brightens up when you walk in, great decor good space with tables and really lovely cocktails! We had a great time!! Can't wait to come back!!

Stumbled upon The Refinery for dinner on a Saturday night and we were so pleased there was a table available for us. Lovely menu, fantastic staff and wonderful food.

I had the crispy duck salad which was really delicious, a large portion, plenty of crispy duck. We were there for lunch it wasn't overly busy, staff were really friendly. They didn't rush us. Really can't fault it.

Had a fabulous time here last night, the cocktails were fab, the food was amazing and the staff were brilliant.. from Zoe (think that was her name) seating us and looking after us, to the very efficient young waiter, to meeting Jillian, my brother and I had a very nice, relaxing few hours together... hopefully, I'll be back again soon... x

Great atmosphere and drinks. It's become my regular.

Fabulous location, quirky, and an amazing surprise for me.

Food very good although serving staff could have been a little more attentive, however we were there just before the evening rush. However that's shouldn't be an excuse.

Would I go back, yes I think it's a real find.

Efficient and friendly bar-staff, great DJ on Friday night, not over-crowded on a hot summer day. Drinks not too over-priced. Bar snacks were tasty... will return

Just had a lovely Sunday lunch, party of 2 adults and 2 children. All had roast dinners and a dessert. Very family friendly. Food was good, however I would suggest introducing a kids menu due to the amount of children here today and food wastage from the adult portions, excellent service, food came out quite quickly. Really nice atmosphere, very busy would recommend booking before you go.

Had a shocking experience the first time, we were offered a free of charge return visit and what a difference lovely food and excellent service from the very friendly staff. Well done!

Had a lovely breakfast, only recommendation would be to use normal bread for the toast as the stuff served was extremely hard, Also serve warm butter not part frozen, no one can spread frozen butter. Other than that the staff were fantastic and the breakfast was tasted

Great ambiance, good service and it’s always a joy every time I patronise The Refinery.

Staff were welcoming and very personable. Starters were better than average especially the scotch egg. However, our mains, which were on the Specials and you would expect to be 'special' were less than mediocre. The fish was tasteless, cherry tomatoes were cold and the tomato sauce tasted as if it came straight out of a tin! Disappointed because staff were good & the place was very Christmassy. I feel the chefs let us down sadly?

Went here for a Christmas dinner with a substancial group of friends. From the get go, the customer service wasn't what we expected, even though we had been the previous year. They charged us for two people's meal who had paid deposit and insisted it was in T&Cs when really, I have never heard of a company charging diners for FULL three course meals, when deposit has already been paid for.



Progressing through the night, our starters consisted of soups, salmon and dry bread and beetroot salad. The soups were so bland that packet soup would have more flavour, the bread that accompanied it was so hard, I thought I chipped my tooth. The smoked salmon was fine but the bread that accompanied it was as dry as a desert which didn't allow my guests to enjoy their starter.



The mains consisted of pork and veg, turkey and veg, seabass with risotto and spinach ravioli. I had the pork which I found to be quite fatty and the texture was like rubber. The risotto was overcooked and the potatoes that accompanied the turkey were frozen Aunt Bessie spuds with air in them. The dessert was the ONLY thing I enjoyed which was the lemon cheesecake. I recall my friends saying they were not fond of the chocolate tart they had as it was exceedingly sweet.



My highlight of the night was when I realised I had ordered the meats platter and got halfway through my skewers and realised the chicken was pink. It goes without saying, I had an upset stomach the next day as I had already had two! My friend who had the exact same meal had appalling food poisoning to the point where she spent her Sunday throwing up.



To conclude: if you want to dine at a poorly cooked and dishonest restaurant. This is the place to go �

Let me caveat this by saying it's very much not my kind of place, having no real character or individuality. So ambiance etc aside, the food was no better than mediocre pub grub. The starter of prawn lollipops was pretty good but nearly impossible to go wrong with. The mains however were tasteless, over cooked and with no redeeming features. From there you'd think the only way was up but then came the deserts. Probably the worst creme brulee I've had in years and the crumble was overly sweet, tepid and with custard that couldn't make up its mind whether it wanted to be hot or cold. If you like a sterile city bar environment and just want something to soak up the beer, by all means eat here. Otherwise I would suggest you avoid it entirely and choose one of London's many amazing eateries!

Great Madame Pommery Cocktail, perhaps we should have just stuck to Cocktails. Pleasant staff, a great shame about our meal, which certainly didn't live up to expectations and there is such a great choice around that area. .. But I was told when I voiced my opinion that a new menu was on its way .....

Very very poor. Burger came without the bacon I asked for as an extra and the burger buns was badly burnt and the chips arrived 5mins after the burgers. Terrible service didn't help. Head waiter came over and apologised, burger was removed from the bill.... Would not go back or recommend.

Great looking restaurant and very accommodating staff/managers. Probably the only redeeming features of the experience. Full English was served cold and eggs not to order. Large delay with delivery of dishes (10 minutes+). Chips oily and frankly distasteful. Visible rush in the kitchen so much so, waiting staff were using hands to plate chips onto plates. Clearly no consideration of any form of food hygiene. This was all blamed on a "system failure". Very unhappy overall with our experience albeit they offered a discount for our terrible experience...
