Went with friends on a Thursday night, all had pie and wine, fantastic pies and puddings were just right to finish it all off, didn't feel over full. Service all with a smile, very friendly, looking forward to going back

We were the lucky winners of the Great British Burger competition on Facebook. We all really enjoyed our meal and couldn't fault anything, both food and staff were excellent... we would definitely recommend and will be returning soon! Thank you for a lovely evening

We came here because of them being in Britstops with our motorhome. As soon as we drove in and saw the car park three quarters full, we new that this was going to be special. Even though we took from the offer menu, we were very impressed by the offering and when I sampled the Brioche bread and butter pudding for dessert ,I did attempt to lick the plate before my wife intervened. Meet the owner and was impressed by him and his staff. Also loved the back ground music that was right up our street. Definitely will be back and recommend.

Very friendly service, nice atmosphere and good food at a fair price, you can’t ask for more really; and handy as we live in the village too!

We’ll no doubt be back again, and again!! Tony & Ed

Unplanned visit after a walk, ended up with great service and great food. Highly recommended

User

Only popped in for a drink after a long dog walk & sat outside. Staff were really friendly made a huge fuss of my dog & showed us the dog friendly room for our next visit

Just returned to the reservoir for the second time in a week. Called in for a business lunch and it was superb and booked a table for my wife and I this evening. On both occasions great service, great atmosphere and fantastic food. The pies are superb. Thanks for a lovely evening.

User

I eat here whenever I am back in the UK as often as I can. Beautiful food, service, atmosphere and genuinely a lovely restaurant! We had a table of 20 booked in on Sunday, everything came out perfectly and on time. The food is to die for. Highly recommend!

User

Great Sunday dinner, we had a large party and despite it being a very busy Sunday service they looked after us all brilliantly. Best Sunday dinner out I’ve had! Will definitely be going again

User

Food was amazing, lovely place, friendly staff. I need say no more will be going back several menu items that I want to try after the great quality starters and mains I had today brilliant

User

Fabulous place. The staff, surroundings, the real ale and food were first class. A very welcoming and knowledgeable Manager / owner ( sorry don't know your name sir). I chose the gorgeous cauliflower and mature cheddar soup to start followed by a fantastic chicken, ham and wild mushroom pie served with homemade chips and vegetables. Thoroughly enjoyed every bite.

Will definitely return when we are back in the area.

Fabulous night at the Resevoir last night ,35 of us ,food superb ,excellent service ,nothing was too much trouble .Thank you for a fabulous evening ,as always .

Didn't plan to go there - but couldn't get into the car with the dogs as a swan was guarding it in the reservoir car park. Anyway we had onion soup - the best I have ever tasted with meaty strips in it and lovely warm bread. Followed by breadcrumbed fish goujons and home made tartar sauce. Tim had baked brie and salad which was delicious with lots of greenery, flavoursome and mustard / balsamic and a few fries. Lovely coffee and mince pie. What a treat - we are going back at the week end with the family. see you soon!

User

After seeing this pop up on Facebook a few times we thought we would head over for lunch. We were met with a warm welcome and fantastic surroundings! The service was spot on and the food was amazing. Such a lovely place thank you

User

Would have been a 5 if there was enough room to eat inside but unfortunately there wssnt meal was lovely and we did manage to eat our puddings inside . Friendly staff and dog friendly in Bar area

I took my friends this weekend as I'm always praising the quality of the Sunday roast - the best Sunday roast I had and I have tried a few!

They now understand why I rave about the quality of the food and the venue.

They said it was lovely and an excellent choice, another family on board for Sunday lunch! - Pat Gardner

Went for Sunday lunch. Good but not as good as previously. Nothing which we would send back but the parsnips were underdone (although the outside was crunchy the inside was hard), the roast potatoes needed longer in the oven and the mixed veg selection was bordering undercooked but also very underwhelming. A little bit of butter, seasoning or some sweetness on the carrots (maple syrup is nice) wouldn't have gone amiss. We will be back but please don't let this be a trend. By the way, please could you change the music to something more soft and relaxing?

Visited 2nd Oct after a nice walk round reservoir (which i recommend to anyone visiting the area). Went to the bar for drinks and said we wanted food, waitress exclaimed it might be busy due to a big booking and sat us in the bar area (no worries, we weren't fussy on where to sit). Young lady cleaning tables near us, we sat for 15 mins with no-one asking if we wanted drinks. Asked young lady for drinks from bar, she said "yes, i'll finish cleaning the tables and then go to the bar for you", and she continued to clean tables. Might be worth training staff that customers prioritise over tables. Main waitress came over and took drinks and food orders. Not a bad wait for food considering busy booking. Fish pie was DELICIOUS one of the best i've had, 2 other roasts were normal affair, nothing out the ordinary and the Lamb option came out as Beef. Bought this up with another waitress, she said "chef says it's beef" and left it as that. Although apparently flagged it up later as she bought out a bowl of Lamb separately. Just all a bit strange in regards to customer service, but quality of food may see us coming back a second time if we are ever in the area again. Just some food for thought in terms of staff-customer relations.

User

Disappointing 'Curry Night' meal. We were hungry and waited an hour for food. Buttered chicken ok-ish but not enough rice and nan breads were tiny. Lamb curry ok but again, rice and nan bread very small to complement the main dish. Sorry but we won't be returning.
