What a great pub with comfort and a great rack of ales to investigate. Friendly welcome and a must for any ale drinker.

We were offered the option of the livelier room with lots of atmosphere, or the quieter dining room. Fresh flowers on the tables, staff brill, manager Liz fab - nothing too much trouble. Beer selections, guest beers and ciders. Food great, menus change often, standards always high. My new favourite pub!

Visited for food this evening with my partner, it was excellent! The beef skirt was so tender! My partners steak was perfectly cooked and the desserts were fantastic! Friendly waiting staff, and readable priced. We will be back :)

The renovations were fantastic and total changed the atmosphere here. The food is very reasonable given the high quality. The beer festival in July every year is probably the most fun you can have with your clothes on. The Deception is a must try!

So friendly and our dog was welcomed. The food was first class so obviously home made absolutely delicious. The surroundings were spacious, loved the little bays and the toilets immaculate Definitely return here

Only popped in for a couple of drinks really busy buzzing vibe lots of familiar faces .... Been coming to this pub since I was 5 years old!! Great to see it thriving again.... Will be back to sample the food xx

It was very busy, had to wait 40 mins for food which we were pre warned about, staff very attentive whilst we waited and was worth it. Food was fab!! Will come again definitely!!

Great atmosphere, fab service and lovely food. My mum who is very particular about her fish and chips said it was the best she'd had in a long time. I had a veggie kofta, very tasty. Overall lovely evening.

First visit today excellent food,staff great and friendly my partner said boar and apple sausage best hes ever tasted....amazing.The only thing that surprised us was the fowl mouthed pensioner in the corner who was OTT . Well be back luv it xxxx

This pub needs to limit the number of children running wild.

Made a special trip for some afternoon drinks after popping in occasionally in the past. Most enjoyable time, plentiful selection of well kept beers, possibly a little too chilled for my liking, hence only 4 stars. Well worth a visit

Tried the bar snacks today, very disappointed. No piccalilli with the mini pork pie as advertised, the crackling with Henderson's Mayo was inedible, the celery in the crudités had brown edges. Send them all back, staff were polite and apologetic.
