What a lovely pub with a great atmosphere This is my new favourite bar!

Thank you for our yummy roast dinner we will certainly be back! X

Went to The Rising Sun yesterday before going to the cathedral for an advent service. The pub was so welcoming and festive. My children absolutely playing on the floor in front of the fire and the beautifully decorated christmas tree. Thank you.

We were a party of 8, for a birthday and the evening combined fresh, unfussy but beautifully presented food, with interesting flavours and locally-sourced, high quality ingredients. They can tell you not just how the lamb is cooked and what it is served with, but about the (local) farm it came from.

I had the catch of the day, and it tasted very, very fresh.

There is a wine list has been carefully chosen; everything gives the impression of being carefully chosen.

The desserts were works of art, and we had dessert wine to go with them.

Our party had almost all different choices for each course, but everything was served pretty much together. The atmosphere was lively, but the food was the star.

I'm already planning going again.

We are from West Yorks and was visiting our friends who recommended The Rising Sun. We certainly wasn't disappointed. This a lovely Pub and wish it was on our doorstep! Our meals were delicious and can certainly recommend the Moules Mariniere! Staff are so friendly and very welcoming. Good luck to the young lady who's first night it was on Friday. You'll do great! Will be popping in again next time we are down, which won't be too long!

User

Utterly delicious, lovely staff, and great atmosphere. Really nice place to visit.

User

Lovely hidden gem of Truro. Brilliant fresh Sunday roast. There is a small beer garden in the back aswell. Visited to celebrate my birthday and couldn't of been more happy. Thank you

User

Lovely food, fabulous atmosphere and very friendly staff. Highly recommend this little gem. We went to celebrate my Dad’s 70th birthday and they made it extremely special.

User

January 2017. Outstanding Sunday lunch served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good size portions of tender roast beef with a home made horseradish sauce and enormous Yorkshire Puddings. Plenty of vegetables served with a great Mornay sauce. The chef provided an excellent cheese board on request and there followed a detailed discussion with the waitress regarding the choice of Port. Surprisingly she suggested a dark, sweet Sherry, which was an excellent choice.

User

I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

The food was truly OUTSTANDING, every morsel was a delight!

Will was so attentive, polite, helpful and charming, a real asset to the team.

I would recommend visiting even if you have to go out of your way, it's so worth it.

It was an absolute pleasure to visit and can't wait to come again, thank you so much.

User

I cannot recommend this place enough, the food is always absolutely amazing, fresh and most importantly Cornish! Having spend my birthday evening celebrating last evening I was treated like a queen, all of the staff we so attentive and lovely little birthday treats just kept coming throughout the evening! Thankyou again for a faultless experience!

User

User

Four of us visited yesterday for Sunday lunch. Never been before, not been recommended , we just went on a whim. From the outside you'd think it was small local boozer.....inside it's gorgeous. A warm welcome, a comfortable lounge to sit in, good service and great food. It's like a tardis....much bigger than expected and beautifully decorated. And a huge tick in the box for me is a kitchen that you can see into. Clean, clearly well organised and chefs working with no drama. The staff were lovely, friendly, attentive and happy to have a laugh. How have I never found this pub before? Thank goodness I've found it now.

User
