What a cracking little pub, tucked away on the canal. Fine ales and a friendly atmosphere. The beer festivals there are such a joy to attend too.

We love it here, we often drive from Chesham and it’s our pub of choice to bring visiting family and friends to.

The best little pub in Berkhamsted. Sat by the Grand Union Canal, it has a great selection of ales and ciders and is a no thrills proper pub with an exceptional reputation. Whatever the weather, be it sitting outside in the summer watching the narrowboats go by or inside in the warm sheltering from the winter do likewise; you'll always be greeted with a warm welcome and a wicked sense of humour.

Go. You shan't regret it...

My second visit .love the location, layout,staff,and the riser bitter .shame I live a 100 miles away . back end of may ,my step son lives at northchurch..see you then .

Lovely friendly place, with a distressingly wide selection to make my mind go into meltdown! Very welcoming landlord and staff... could you please move to Milton Keynes??! (-;
