We stayed in Portmellon over two years ago and used the Rising Sun as our local whilst staying in a cottage. Straight away we were made to feel welcome not only by the Landlady and her staff but by the locals too. Following that visit we have stayed at The Rising Sun ever since. Rooms are lovely, food is good and the overall atmosphere of this old pub is worth going back for. Looking forward to our next stay very soon. Thank you Sharon.

Stopped for a drink halfway along our walk from Mevagessy, lovely day so we sat outside, received a friendly welcome in the bar,lovely stone floor.

Nice and friendly. Having a 3yo and keeping them occupied was easy, especially with the beach and sea so close. A walk into the town and back requires a little leg muscle work out too..lol

New to the area but consider this our local already. Such a nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great beer.

Lovely unspoilt "proper" pub in peaceful Portmellon Harbour. Food and beer always excellent. Sit outside,have a Beer and watch the world go by...

Lovely meal, friendly people, great service for our group of 6 adults, 3 kids and a dog. Even found us some candle to put on a pud for a birthday surprise.

Good pub food in quality, quantity and value for money. A selection of local beers and ciders are available, friendly staff who coped with us not having booked a table on several occassions over the past week and we have no hesitation in recommending it as an ideal place to eat for anyone either on holiday or passing through the area.
