We went to The Robin Hood for the first time this evening and all I can say is thank goodness we decided to choose this pub. We chose the vegetarian option; the nut roast and wow, it was so delicious. I can honestly say it is the best nut roast that I have ever had. The portions were great too. The lovely staff gave us five or so minutes once we were seated to look through the menu then came over to take our order with a smile! Lovely place......
We booked for a pre-christmas meal and really enjoyed ourselves. Food was good and service perfect, friendly and courses arrived at the right time.
Tucked away in an idyllic location this cosy little country pub definitely ticked the box for a Sunday afternoon carvery & a tipple or two by an amazing open fire...Friendly, helpful staff somehow managed to find us a table despite it being absolutely chockablock. Salmon was just amazing & although not usually mash lover something about the creamy parsley texture hit the spot.
Shared the roast Lamb , portion was great plenty for two people ! Loads of roast potatoes and good selection of vegetables ! Massive yorkshire !
Father in law had trout again great portion size !
Good service and ambience
Relly good food, nice and clean place, loads of parking space and friendly staff :) dog friendly too :)
Nice pub restaurant and great food great beer great service 👌👍🍺🏁
Many thanks to all the staff for making Christmas Day lunch specia,l excellent quality of food and service well done
Great service and quality food and good value price. Celebrated Mothers Day here so thought only fair to celebrate Father's Day, despite being very busy didn't have to wait too long to get served our roast lunches. Waitresses very attentive and good service
Delicious food and excellent service
This gastropub looks a bit inconspicuous sitting on the side of a main road in the middle of nowhere. But it is well worth a visit. My beef burger was bit dry, but otherwise the food is lovely, reasonably priced, and the staff and environment are relaxed and friendly. I love their sticky toffee pud!
The first time I visited i was amazing second time was lovely food but with a very long wait
The Robin Hood is a lovely pub the food is very nice .. Service very good .. However yesterday we had to wait 50 mins for our food to arrive, tad too long we thought ,with no explanation as to why !!
Then were ordered our desert ,our coffee came first .. Then 20 mins later our desert came .. When we mentioned it the manager explained they had a table with 15 to serve .... Not sure that was a good enough excuse really .. just frustrating to wait so long !
Good selection of foods, staff excellent and food cooked well.
For starter had cray fish cocktail, the cray fish had no taste, lovely roast dinner, but baked potatoes were not the best, mini dessert and coffee very nice, staff excellent and a lovely atmosphere will definitely go again,
Food was hot and plentiful. Desserts are delicious 😋
First visit with the family on Mothers Day so wasn't expecting the best service but was pleasantly surprised. A welcoming pub with lovely friendly staff. The food was lovely. Also a very good gluten free menu for my extremely fussy Dad. We will definitely be back.
Enjoyed the food, but not exceptional. The serving staff were not top notch to be honest and we waited a long time to be approached after being seated.
Went to Robin Hood on Monday for an aunts 80th birthday and worst service and food i have had at a Mcmullen's pub.We had the fish & chips and the batter was burnt and the fish was grey like something you buy for the cat.The staff walked around with faces like a smacked a**e all apart from a lovely cheerful young girl that came on shift as we was asking for the bill.Never again i will stick to the Mcmullen's other pub The Plough half a mile down the road.
Very disappointed in our meal. I had bangers and mash - mash was dried out, 2 of the sausages were burned and no vegetables even though they were listed on the menu. My husband wanted the roast chicken but they had run out so he had the steak and kidney pudding. It was OK.
Overall not what we expected - doubt we’ll be back.
