The Rockford Inn

Amazing location, brilliant staff who are unbelievably friendly and will make you feel welcome. Food is very tasty, especially the pies. Great beer too. Rooms are exceptional, clean and comfy.

Stunning find... perfect British pub. Amazing location. Rarely do I find a pub that I am willing to drive to (as I like to have a couple of glasses of wine) but this is the exception to the rule. Happily drive or pay for taxi to this place. 100% feel good factor :)

Arrived at the pub at about 12.35 on Monday 17th July 2017, to have lunch. Very disappointed to be told, by the person serving in the bar, that you don't serve food on Mondays, 'the kitchens need a rest', apparently. What a shame, never mind we had a very nice drink anyway, before continuing our walk to Watersmeet, where fortunately we were able to treat ourselves to a Devon cream tea, lovely. In retrospection I questioned how I could have made such a silly mistake. I like planning our days out, and felt a tad embarressed to have got it so wrong. I'd read your web pages and have subsequently re-read them, and there's nothing there about 'Mondays', or have I missed it?. And then I find your reply to another review, a month ago, on this very site, pointing out that you serve food, at lunch time, seven days a week? Perhaps I can make a suggestion that you add a little section to your website, detailing opening times and food availability. I'm sure, that had you been serving food, it would have been lovely, perhaps next time.

Little place next to the rivet, a nice relaxing stop on a walk. Small patio over the road next to the river itself with 4 tables and free wifi.

Lovely place, unfortunately you can't get sandwiches in the afternoon. But as a place to have a drink before or after a walk it's a very nice pub
