Newsflash, all remaining beer festival stillage ales now £2 a pint! When it’s gone it’s gone 🍻🍻

Did you know? It’s 9 years to the day that we first opened the doors of The Rose?? 🎂🎉
On a completely unrelated note it’s day 2 of our ‘Just Because We Want To’ Beer Festival and rain certainly didn’t stop play yesterday!
Today we are joined by Doughology wood fired pizzas and The Groovy Cats. You can even have a go with our retro photo booth. It’s going to be a good one! Come celebrate with us! 🍕🍻🍺🎸🎷

Well today’s the day folks! The beer fest is finally here, I’m sure you’re all as excited as we are! And we’ve got a Pie and pea supper for you all, to kick off a great beer fest weekend. We’ll see you all there, food at 8:30-9pm. 🥧🍺

So we’re about set up and ready for the beer fest which kicks off tomorrow, so how about a preview of the beers to come, from the stillage and over the main bar. 🍺

Turned up on a busy evening over Christmas with two kids and a dog - not the best prospect for a landlord - yet we were greeted warmly and made to feel very welcome. Gorgeous beer too.

Superb choice of some 9 hand pulled beers - of which 4 are from Brampton Brewery and some five quality Guest beers. Not sure many places resemble a great British pub than the Rose & Crown - a Jewel in the Crown of Chesterfield. The staff were so attentive and passionate about their products - highly commendable!

Spire Radio broadcast live from the St George's weekend beer festival at the Rose and Crown and Matt, the landlord, made us very welcome. There was a very comprehensive range of beers and ciders on offer and the atmosphere was most convivial. We would recommend this pub to anyone seeking a proper pint

Lovely traditional pub with great beer and a warm, chilled atmosphere. Lucky to have this on my door step �

Love this place, great beers, great laughs, all with the addition of the Dream Team Matt & Loz.

I love this pub, beer is fantastic and the staff are very welcoming - always worth a return 👍🏻

Have had Sunday lunch here at least 6 times this year - the food is always excellent - home cooked fresh and more than plentiful ( I usually opt for the lamb) great value for money

Had Sunday lunch here , the staff are really friendly and the food was really, really good. Then drinks are reasonably priced, the pub is really clean, will be going back there soon.

Great selection of ales and good atmosphere, couple that with great company and you have a brilliant evening.

Excellent pub, great beer and a fantastic venue to host a celebration. I held my baby shower here and it was first class - the food was delicious and the staff couldn't do more for us.

As joint organiser of an Event held at the Rose and Crown on the night of Thursday 4th August I'd just like to say a massive thank you to all the staff involved. It was a cracking night and the food you laid on for us was great.

A proper pub with friendly staff and great beer. Dog friendly and the sort of place where, if a chap wasn't careful, he could spend too much time. They sometimes even have dog treats behind the bar.

Chesterfield CAMRA group popped in there on 27/11/2016. "Beer of the week" was Brampton 1302 at just £2.50, which was very nice, but my personal favourite and definitely beer of the day was the Brampton Mild - a delicious 4.9%.



Plenty of people about who had clearly been enjoying the good food available, an d the Sunday roast looked very nice indeed.

Totally wrong took beer off a friend as he had too much after he sold it too him and what he do wrong nothing . And what happened it After a a talk with the lad behind the bar he would not help . Which in the end a friend smashed a glass which I can't say say sorry for enough .But if they not taken beer off someone that was soder than me . Yes I'm cross a nice day out ruined
