We went here for lunch yesterday, our first visit. We were not disappointed.

All four meals served were very well cooked. The choices on the menu were varied and there was something for everyone.

It was great to see an old style Corned Beef Square, served with chunky chips and mushy peas.

Two of our party that had them said they were very tasty.

I had the roasted salmon, crushed potatoes and veg. Very good indeed.

The other diner had the Royal Pie, which was a very generous portion and was also delicious.

Prices are very fair, the staff very friendly, service was very good and the place was comfortably decorated.

Now we know about the food at The Royal, we will certainly visit again.

A 'Hidden Gem'�

We have been going to the Royal at Low Moor for a couple of years now and we have never been disappointed. The food is excellent great value, staff are pleasant and obliging, highly recommend.

Been here today for the first time and will definitely be back, hubby got the mixed grill which was fantastic and really well presented, I got the crispy belly pork on crushed new potatoes with an apple and cider sauce it was exceptional.we were both full but I still kept picking the fork up to try eat more haha.

Been here this evening with the whole family for my nieces 15th birthday and I must say the food and the service from the staff were absolutely fantastic, great food and great value for money. We will deffinately be back.

Been going in there for years even when it was the old Royal it’s friendly warm great staff make you welcome the food is very good & reasonable price wise what more could you want give it a try ���

If you want real food this is the place to go, we’ve been to some places and still feel hungry when we’ve finished our meals, well you won’t here, we were stuffed, the staff are lovely and can’t do enough for you, I’d recommend you book at table because it’s always busy, thank you all at the royal

Went here today with my patner and children, found what i can only describe as a hair with fluff on it in my sons food. Not a problem i understand that things like this happen so put it on a tissue and my partner was going to get a drink so told him to tell a female staff member who Said "eeerrr whats that?" "Thats disgusting" and took it round back, No body apologised or asked if my son wanted his food changing or came over at all untill i asked to speak to a manager, about this, the manager wasnt there and no other staff memeber knew anything about it. Anyway when i was speaking to another lady the one we showed it to came flying over with an attitude and said if its about money off we can take the meal off � this wasnt about money it was about customer service and the way they ignored it. Ended up paying and walking out livid WHAT A DISGRACE

Been in today for a Sunday dinner and was very let down we ordered chicken roast , but it was very bland the mash potato was very dry and tasteless and the roast potatoes were okay but could be done with roasting a little bit more they were very pale the chicken wasn't of a roasted joint it was a chicken fillet with no taste and the gravy had no taste at all the only nice thing on my plate was the Yorkshire pudding , I ordered a vanilla cheesecake but tasted like a vanilla mousse nothing like cheesecake in fact it's the worse cheesecake I have ever eaten my husband had the lemon meringue and the same with his just tasted like a mousse and also put toffee sauce on it which he didn't ask for and not a great lover of it

My Advice to the chef maybe try a different supplier for your deserts and start adding a bit of taste to your Sunday dinners

12 of us visited for Sunday Lunch on the 24th March & we were not impressed. We were originally squeezed into a corner clearly not suitable for our group. The answer to this was not enough long tables available which I am sorry to say is a poor response. The staff did moved us to another group of tables which were much more appropriate. It was very clear at this point that our group had been booked in too early to accommodate with other groups in at that time.



Starters took 55 minutes to arrive. When our main meals arrived, the steaks ordered were over cooked & some meals seemed as though they had been stood too long to come out. Maybe too many large groups booked in too close together.



This restaurant has so much potential but if I based my review on Sunday lunch I would not go back however our previous mid-week visits have been excellent so we will hopefully try again.
