We just celebrated our 40th Wedding Aniversary at the Royal Maritime Club we had a brilliant time. The staff were very helpful from booking and planning the event to the successful event. The food was marvellous, the DJ ways great. Would use the club again.

User

We had our wedding and reception there in may. Top quality service from all the staff. The food was exellent and our room was superb. Well done all concerned.

User

We had a clean, spacious family room, excellent all-you-can-eat breakfast included in the very reasonable price. If you are serving or retired forces you can get a discount on the room cost as a 'Member'. An excellent bar, swimming pool & Jacuzzi, a quiet room/library, laundry and a restaurant serving good food. In a prime position for visits to Portsmouth Dockyard, with all its historic attractions, harbour tours where you can see naval ships moored and have a running commentary on the history of the harbour. And only a stone's throw from a great outlet village, for a bit of retail therapy. In walking distance of Portsmouth Harbour rail station, the Gosport Ferry and Portsmouth bus terminus.

User

Took my small children to use the new pool facilities, it was brilliant. Really clean and warm and very spacious, much better than any of the others in Southsea! Would definitely visit again xxx

User

This hotel has character, we really liked it, not a 5* but something very charming about the place. Above all it was the staff that stood out, every one we spoke to just so warm friendly and helpful. Nice room, comfy bed and great breakfast too. A little gem.

User

The staff are a blessing! very quick to help and get things sorted friendly polite . It’s like an old gentleman’s club very peaceful everything is done with no questions I actually love the atmosphere it’s not loud it’s relaxed.

I was happy with everything clean tidy the food is great ( only complaint should be pure orange at breakfast ). The disabled facilities are very good what they offer in the room is not something I’ve seen as of yet in other hotels so well equipped for bathing so have a ten out of ten for that suit would happily book and stay again thank you for a pleasant stay Royal Maritime club

User

Stayed here the last couple of nights as we are doing some maritime archaeology on HMS Invincible, list on Horsetail Sands in 1758. Cracking place to stay right next to the National Museum of the Royal Navy. The hotel is efficiently run, rooms are clean and the restaurant good. The staff are incredibly helpful, cheerful and friendly. The club was formerly used to provide accommodation for navy ratings between ships if they needed somewhere to stay, and it is a charity. Ticks all the boxes. Thank you!

My sister & brother in-law held their wedding reception at your hotel on Saturday 20th may - lovely venue

I would like to say thank you for catering for me my gluten free, dairy free 3 course dinner, especially the Yorkshire puddings, these were amazing! The variety for me on the evening buffet was brilliant & so delicious too.

A big thank you to the young gentleman waiter that was personally looking after me, his service was fantastic, he saw to whatever I needed quickly & efficiently & was always polite & had a smile on his face - I think his name was Matthew but I'm not entirely sure, I did thank him but would like you to pass on my appreciation further to him as he really did do a fab job & it's nice to be told

User

Friendly staff, the food was quickly prepared and well worth every penny.

User

Due to a cancellation, at just 5hrs notice the Royal Maritime Club managed to step in a host my husbands 50th birthday party and house all our guests as well. Debbie Creek and all the staff were amazing. I can not recommend the hotel and team highly enough. The rooms are great, clean & comfortable and have all the amenities you need. Excellent value for money. Thank you Royal Maritime Hotel.

Stayed here this week for our 50th anniversary of joining the RN. Excellent location and service from the staff. Our reunion dinner went without a hitch and the meal was perfect and well presented, a credit to the staff. Thank you.

As stated previously the hotel is overpriced as it is a bit dated and will soon need a refurb. Apart from that it was a very enjoyable stay.

Thanks

User

Just back from an overnight stay here. Although the rooms were a bit dated everywhere was spotlessly clean. Plenty of hot water. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Managed to get a parking space out the front and were kindly told we could leave it there all day the day we checked out. Ideal location for all attractions and Gunwarf Quays we managed to walk everywhere. Breakfast fantastic and catered well for my gluten free diet. The only downside was that the bedroom was very hot. (It had been a hot day though) There was a fan provided. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable will definitely return.

User

Has charm and character, spotless but dated, but it is run by a charitable trust and the profits got back into the running of the place, couldn't be better situated for Gunwharf Quays and The Historic Ships, and only about 10 to 15 mins walk to the Theatre Royal

User

Had a lovely stay at the hotel . Very clean and receptionist was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good . But just felt the young lady who was at the front to take out names could of showed a little more interest . She didn’t really explain anything , just said take a sit , but there wasn’t any . So we had to find a nice older gentleman who clean a table for us. He came back eventually and said do you know where everything is . We said no , he then said they should of explained at the desk .. so really that was the only let down . Couldn’t find a table , then having to sort our if we had to wait for a cup of tea, and how it worked .. but would definitely go back . Thank you

User

Nice and clean hotel, great location, friendly staff and good breakfast. Only let down is lack of parking out front unless you time it right, and our last night there was pretty sleepless as hotel lights outside the front lit up the room like Blackpool illuminations so had to drive 2 hours home feeling tired and really unimpressed.
