Really friendly country pub with some slightly out of place but somehow right Pink Floyd stools at the bar. Beer was good quality, didn't have time for food, but was a great place to warm up after a muddy trek.
Nice cosy and friendly pub. Dogs and muddy boots welcome. The couple working there were super friendly and very accommodating, we felt nothing was too much trouble. Great range of beers and good atmosphere. Food was good (I found the pie a little salty for my taste & one of our meals arrived a little late ).
Overpriced and poor quality. Charged £8 for chips and baked beans and served tiny child's portions :( my friend paid £9.5 for one slice of Welsh rarebit and my friend's pie was served cold. All round pretty terrible experience.
Short break after moderate walk to Thor's Cave. Nice and warm place, friendly staff looking after you
Fantastic country pub! We arrived in a camper van after travelling a long way with the intention of staying in the field behind the pub, however this wasn't possible due to a local technical issue. The landlord Ian was extremely welcoming and understanding and gave us permission to park overnight in their car park - this was fantastic news as we were really looking forward to having a good walk in the Manifold Valley. When we arrived back at the camper, the pub opened at 6pm and we had some excellent real ale, and some very good home cooked pub grub. Again the landlord was really friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble and he was also generous with his time. We would recommend a visit to the Royal Oak in Wetton as it is a fine rustic country pub.
