My latest addition to this months specials board is for those looking for something hot! I visited Goa late last year & made friends with a local Chef who not only gave me tips on how to cook Goan curries but gave me lots of Masalas (mixed prepared spices) to bring back to the pub. This one is called locally as a Balchao and is a Sweet & sour style Vindaloo with chicken. As with all our curries they are complete meals with rice & naan bread for example. ENJOY "DEAN"

Went yesterday for a work get together pre order the food to make things easier, well I was so pleasantly surprised, the food was fantastic, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was exceptional, what a lovely place and would definitely visit again and have recommended to many people and will keep recommending! Thank you to the staff at the Royal Oak well done

This is one of the best pubs around here for food.. been here on a number of occasions and have always had top class food.. such a huge selection of meals all at great prices and great sized portions means you won't go away still hungry!! And the staff are all lovely with a special mention of Dan and Jake, the Ant & Dec of Hawkeridge !!! It's worth going just to see them in action...but it's worth booking as they do get very busy especially on Sundays due to their fabulous roast dinners.

The staff are friendly and the food is good. I like the fact you have a choice of sides to go with your main meal and the option of a smaller size meal too.

Thank you to all the staff at The Royal Oak for a very enjoyable experience. A warm welcome. Good banter and great food. Catering for 8 adults and 4 young children.serving the kids first( which a lot of places dont) and very prompt service so we all actually ate together.Thank you for making the evening special.

One of the best roasts I’ve ever had....

Definitely worth going here, lovely place, great service

Lovely fresh home cooked food..friendly quick service..sunday roasts served all day sunday (choice of 4 meats)as well as off menu..nice homely atmosphere..worth booking if ur going to eat here...highly recommended

It the first time I have ever had a Christmas Day meal out. The meal was excellent. Lovely and hot. I was absolutely stuffed! The staff were excellent and gave us a very warm welcome. Good value for money.

I was in the party of 16 for my dad's 80th Birthday and we were greeted by happy smiley staff. They were very courteous and helpful. The food was excellent and very reasonable. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone. A delightful experience. Thank you

I have only good things to say about the service today at The Royal Oak. Twenty of us turned up at 3pm without calling ahead, hoping that we would be able to grab some late lunch (but not expecting that they'd be able to serve us all) and the two guys behind the bar were super welcoming and lovely, let us all pay endorser individually. They had no problems with us taking up half the garden, and were an absolute dream about bringing out our food. The food all came out in great time (much faster than we were expecting) and was all delicious and well presented. A lovely team of staff and really lovely pub. Thank you very much for a lovely meal!!

Food aplenty here last night! Always to be relied upon but yet another good meal at the Royal Oak. Yes it is ‘just’ a pub menu to some but it is a great pub menu with lots of choices. Two sizes or portions and the ‘normal’ one is huge! Always enjoy our evenings there.

Fantastic food,warm welcome and great service,one of my favourite places to eat,the roast dinner is superb!!

Excellent meal and drinks again tonight. Can ever fault food, drink, service or hospitality here. Booked up for Fathers Day just a few days away on Sunday when we settled the bill, without hesitation. Highly recommended.

Had my first roast dinner at the Royal Oak yesterday and it was lush!! So good that I’ve booked a family meal there on Christmas Eve, right up there in my top three! The staff were all lovely, really friendly & super efficient, I would thoroughly recommend it!
