The Rude Strawberry Café Description
Our food is hand made with love : ) We use locally produced, seasonal, homemade and homegrown food where we can, for example free range eggs from Elmsett Game Farm in Little Cornard, pâtés and terrines from chef Carl Shillingford in Nayland, honey from Glemsford, pork products from Brookfields Farm in Assington to name but a few; a lot of our meat is free range and rare breed. We are proud to support local businesses wherever we can. In season we use herbs, fruit and some vegetables from our own garden, and forage locally for wild ingredients, which you will see featured on our Specials board from time to time. We have plenty of vegetarian and vegan options and lots of choices for those with gluten or dairy free diets.
If you are in a rush, take away lunches can be pre ordered before 10. 30am for collection from midday onwards. We can provide lunch platters and hot or cold buffets for your business meeting or special event, delivered free within a 3 mile radius of the cafe.
If you are looking for something different to do, we run a fortnightly Tapas night on alternate Fridays, these are great fun and the food is delicious.
The cafe is fully licensed until 11pm and may be hired in the evenings for catered meetings and functions, please call for more details.
