The Runway (Permanently Closed)

I used to come to the Runway religiously and they never let me down. Unfortunately they are now under new management and things have taken a turn for the worse. My usual stylist was let go and when I booked I was told I would be charged way more than my usual price for some amazing Italian professional. Well, I never found out how amazing he was because when I arrived for my appointment on Saturday the salon was SHUT. This was after they had sent me a reminder the previous day! I phoned all the numbers I had for them including the one written on the outside of the salon but there was no reply and no-one has contacted me since. What a shame as this used to be a great place, but the new owners have ruined it. Avoid avoid avoid.

Absolutely despicable. If I could give negative stars I would. I was told a company consultant would be styling my hair. Not only did she cut it too short but she thinned it out so the volume that I had taken 2 years to get vanished in mere minutes. When I asked for a refund, I was told a manager needs to make that decision- I am still waiting to hear anything at all. Avoid this place if you like your hair...

DO NOT GO HERE. Once upon a time this was a fab salon; however, once the salon went under new management the customer service was atrocious. Do not go here, her staff asked me to stay behind after I got my hair done to close the shop for them with my lady who was doing my hair!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I aired concerns over the pricing I got a nasty response from the owner, I am in shock, such a shame as the girl who did my hair was amazing, its a pity about the new owner :(

DO NOT VISIT. Terrible place. I went in for a colouring to go grey/platinum, and the guy doing the job had no clue whatsoever. Burnt my scalp as he applied colouring twice!!! and the hair looked awful. I had to go to another place for them to make it right. Would avoid like the plague.

I don’t think this is the worst hairdresser in London, should be the worst hairdresser in whole UK. Chris was rude and the whole experience was unpleasant. The blow dry was ridiculous – it last hardly two hours - and he destroyed my fringe. Also, when I booked my appointment there was a half-price offer for new costumers but when Chris finished his ‘incredible session’ I had to pay full-price, which is ridiculously expensive. Avoid no matter what this hairdresser.

Would award this place zero stars if I could!! Have been happily coming here for years but had an awful experience yesterday under the new management. The new team are rude, impersonal and sour-faced, and a once vibrant salon now appears empty of customers. After 20mins of waiting (despite there being only one other client) i was given a stylist who i'm not sure listened to what i'd asked for, and who was 10mins into the session before she felt it appropriate to mention that irrespective of what i'd been quoted, i'd now be expected to pay £60 for a trim!

To add insult to injury, the collagen-pumped manager rudely scoffed at my suggestion that someone might have called me to advise that my usual stylist no longer worked there and that prices had been hiked to almost double what i'd been quoted. Apparently, she "doesn't have time" for good customer service! And when I said that i'd leave it, she responded angrily, refusing (at first) to return the money i'd prepaid towards the cut under the old team. It was only after 10mins of me making it crystal clear that I wasn't leaving without my money that she miraculously found it on the system, slamming the cash down on the counter without even looking at me.

A real shame to see a good salon destroyed by poor management, and a complete waste of my Saturday afternoon! Avoid!

Absolutely amazing experience. Had a wax voucher from Groupon. I called for a same day appointment and they were able to squeeze me. The staff were very polite and friendly. Very clean and stylish place. The Beautician, Emily, was very professional and thorough, did an absolutely amazing job with minimal pain. Would definitely recommend them!
