We're all shocked and immensely saddened by the tragic and senseless death of one of our own. Jonny was one of the kindest and friendly lads we knew and his loss will be greatly felt amongst his many friends in this close community of Thornhill. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this sad time.

Happy New Year from all at the Scarborough. Have a happy and healthy 2017. The Pub is the best place to relax and enjoy company with family and friends, and keeps you stimulated and fit (ie walking too and fro from the pub).

Ok 6 days of summer left then on the 22nd it's Autumn, and with it the more ruby and copper coloured beers will be on the pumps leading up to Halloween. We have a pair of beers on the bar this weekend, one to celebrate the end of summer, and another our path into Autumn. We have from Norfolk, Woodforde's Reedlighter abv 4.2% a dry-hopped American-style pale ale packed with bold hop characteristics, deliciously drinkable and very pale in colour. From Edinburgh's Caledonian brewery Autumn Red 4.4%, After a golden summer comes the red of autumn in the form of this comforting and deeply satisfying red ale. Relax and enjoy.

Lets go racing, so mount your steed and gallop to York, places your bets relax in the sun take on board plenty of fluids and collect your winnings. Two party's leaving from here this morning after breakfast butties and a slurp of drink, Yorkshire Tea or something a little stronger. The ladies all looked glamorous and the gents even made the effort, good luck everyone and have a great day.

Euro 2016 games being shown on our big screen in the games room or alfresco on our outside heated terrace. Enjoy the game with a Pint and a home made burger or pizza.

Two For the weekend first from Caledonian Brewery Winterbrau 4.3%. Warming winter brew for the winter wonderland. Mahogany ale, spice and chocolate aromas, sweet spice flavours, deep velvet malt finish. Its partner an old favorite of the Scarborough Barnsley Bitter 3.8% A traditional copper coloured bitter. Taste and enjoy on there own or with a snack off our menu.
