Very nice mid week lunch out for my birthday, quite quiet but nice staff good lunch, lovely fire on a nasty October day.

Poor! Food was adequate and reminded me of school dinners. Pre cooked beef, packet Yorkshires, frozen pre cooked roast potatoes. Service was shocking, orders wrong and menu lacking in detail.
The venue is great but the lack of custom should have set alarm bells ringing when we walked in. If it wasn't for the fact it was my friends birthday we would have walked out (like the other couple did beside us).
We will not be coming back!

Great find off the A12, but well worth the detour! Food is very good and nice and relaxing lunch!

Food was as expected for price - it was well cooked and some great choices on the menu. The only thing that really let this place down was the wait for food (only about 1/4 of restaurant was used) and the service delays between courses. Our coffee wasn't even delivered at the end of the meal. So to sum up - we'd go back as food was what we expected and wanted, but the service better be better or we won't go back.

We arrived just after 12 noon on a Thursday lunchtime. The place was warm, clean and inviting. We were shown the table that was reserved for us but told we could choose anywhere else that was free. The four of us had four different meals, all well cooked and presented. The menu was varied and interesting. The staff were very friendly and the price reasonable. Much improved from previous owners.

Took 1.30 - 1.55 mins to get basic pub grub. No apology from staff to say they couldn't cope with a large party (10) No updates when food would arrive, totally ignored. Staff have no hospitality skills. Will not be returning and wouldn't recommend it. Ruined the birthday celebration.

New management moved in today, breath of fresh air, good food and great local pub.
