EVERYTHING

Was in the area waiting for my daughter whilst she was at the hairdressers, decided to wait in the most local pub..stumbled across the shark..had the young lady Jo behind the bar not been friendly and welcoming i probably wud of waited in my car!

I had 35 mins to kill so Jo kept me chatting made me feel at ease and very welcome in the pub when it was full of locals...lovely day.. a credit to have a barmaid like that!! Will now return there with friends and come to the live bands etc she was telling me about!!

Pay rise due me thinks!! ����

The pub is still the best one in Harlow, despite McMullens ridiculous pricing policy for beers, fortunately the landlord manages to retain his custom because he's a decent guy and his customers respect him. There are a few dodgy looking customers like Captain Birdseye, but you can't have it all 😄

Superb place, very friendly and defiantly feels like a welcoming pub.

This pub surpasses any other in Harlow for its friendly atmosphere, My family friend’s and I have visited The Shark from the 80’s right up to now, and it certainly has rewarded us with fantastic memories, The entertainment is brilliant from live bands to Karaoke, and may I say the Karaoke is the best in town! The DJ Steve is both professional and fun, making you feel like you can take on any song, he certainly gives The Shark it’s fun factor, if you’re not singing you are up dancing! The location is fantastic, close to the local town and shops. The quality of service is clearly being driven-up passionately and professionally by the management and his staff.

The standards and care that are evident in the customer experience surpass other Harlow establishments, and certainly anything in the area.

Staff happy to help .. great BBQ food ... large garden area which is next to a recreatonal woodland area ..

New to the area so was trying to find a decent friendly pub and this is the one! Lovely garden to sit and have some drinks in when the sun is out. Sunday evening Karaoke was good fun too although the music played in between the karaoke singers had me pulling my “no no no” face � but I’m a Rock chick so Taylor Swift, Lady Goo Goo, Beyoncé, Kanye Mess etc is frown worthy to me � but that doesn’t stop it from being a great night and the staff are lovely and friendly, as are the other customers. Plus everyone takes the time to talk to you and make you feel welcome which is nice when you’ve had to come to a new place and you feel a bit unsettled. Perfect way to help you feel like things might turn out ok eventually and you’ll feel at home in the long run with a nice local to go to like this too. ��

Love this pub! Always made to feel welcome even with a funny accent! Love the different nights of entertainment, although will admit the karaoke nights are my favourite even though I can't sing �! The Dj is one of the only fair DJs I know and doesn't have "favourites"and simply goes through the list in order. I know as many times I've tried to sneak a song in and got a no! I love the fact if I ask for a song to be played and he hasn't got it... The following week he will have it!! The staff management and regulars are all lovely!! Rarely will you see me in another pub!!

Just home from a fantastic night at this friendly busy pub, karaoke tonight and loads of great singers, and such friendly staff, made lots of new friends, special thanks to Sam the landlord and the excellent DJ Steve who not only played great music but stayed on late to make sure everyone who asked got to sing, highly recommend this pub

It might have been a couple of months since I left as a staff member but as punter or staff this pub is one in a milllion. It’s a cliche to say that it feels like a home but it really does feel like a community. A group of people who tirelessly work hard and care about each other. I don’t care what any review says Sam, Vee, Karaoke Steve and everyone who work there make the shark what it is and whatever people say you won’t get a more committed or dedicated team.

I love the shark! Its not even local to us but we go out of our way to go there on weekends, music is always great and never had a problem like some other places in the area. Would definately recommend going along for a good night out!!!

I dont get out very often but meet my friends at the shark for only a couple of drinks & ended up staying all night as there was karaoke & everyone was having a great time.hats of to all the staff(as really friendly)& the karaoke man too.i will be returning back to this pub

Great pub, best in Harlow, happy staff and easy to talk too, good music and live bands, karaoke is brilliant as it's fair and music in between is always good and best of all management is great, best place to go for an evening out or to celebrate a birthday or anniversary etc or just to chill during the day but don't take my word for it come in and join the fun

For many years I have been on a seemingly endless quest to find a public house as inviting as the mythical hostelries of popular folklore such as The Winchester, The Queen Vic or the Cheers bar, and finally, in the Shark, I have found such a wondrous place truly does exist. The outside space captures the sunshine in summer, the inviting fireplace warms the cockles of the heart in the deepest of dark winters.



The bar staff are charming and seemingly psychic as they always seem to know what beverage I require before I even place my order. The live music is always a joy to behold with a wide range of local talent. However the jewel in the crown must be the legendary Karaoke nights. Sir Stephen of Karaoke, despite his terrible taste in football teams, is the master of all he purveys. His encouraging demeanor and extensive repertoire welcomes both regulars and newcomers alike and all types of singers are given a warm reception. Even my caterwauling. Please do not let that last bit put you off, you can always go outside when I'm on ;)



In conclusion I thoroughly recommend this establishment and would be willing to wax lyrical about it in person to anyone that purchases for a me a pint of their finest Strongbow. Thank you for your attention.

Excuse me you are havin a laugh....if being a regular makes you friends then in my eyes that what makes a fantastic pub....as for landlord drinking coffee wtf he don’t have to match you drink for drink....he’s reasonable or his pub nothing wrong with that.....and come on who could fault Karaoke Steve he’s fab he has to be to get me singing....and if you don’t like my local then go somewhere else.....sorry sam

Cracking night up the Shark tonight! Triple X were great and Sax on fire are something else. Staff are amazing and coping well as it's heaving! Best night out in a while! Xx

By far the best pub in Harlow - great staff who are welcoming and friendly. Comfy and cosy inside while being calm and relaxing outside. Live music by the local bands are always amazing but the best thing is the karaoke. Steve is fantastic and always encourages people of all abilities to let loose and have a sing-song �

A lovely pub with a beautiful garden area. The manager and staff are always very friendly and helpful. Good beer and nice food. Always happy to visit The Shark :-)
