The Ship and Shovel 46 years ago ! Facade to the left not so different ! Fabulous.
Don't forget , watch the game here ! History could be made in this Historic Pub. Do come and join us !
JUST LIKE THE GAME, WE"RE A PUB OF TWO HALVES. We know our guests, and whilst some of you love football, others are happier away from the screens.
So we have turned our unique two-part pub into a football heaven ,and a football -free zone.
... Which ever side you choose to support , come and get a bucket of beer,4 bottles for just £12.50. Offer includes Badger Ales and our selection of bottled lagers.
We hope to see you soon!

Look out for Hall & Woodhouse pub teams across the south who are swapping pulling pints for picking litter! In partnership with @KeepBritainTidy campaign the Great British Spring Clean #FoundersSweepers #LitterHeroes

Today is Beer Day Britain! What's your favourite Badger beer? #CheersToBeer
Have you tried our new Owlers IPA yet?
This beer is inspired by Dorset's early smugglers, or "owlers" - it's a new take on US West Coast style beers with a beautiful hop character, bursting with citrus hop aromas and delivering a complex hop-charged taste.
Hello to our friends from Korea! Can you believe that we are featured in a guide from 5,500 miles away?
Leaping Legend is back on cask from to February - March. This golden brew balances the citrus character of American Amarillo hops with the more traditional British Fuggles hops for a refreshing and punchy beer. Available while stocks last! #BadgerAles
We never needed any proof but apparently, researchers at Oxford University have found that visiting the pub is good for you!

Wonderful little find - unusual pub split over both sides of an alley! Snacks we had were excelkdnt👍
Very good pub. Well if it's good enough for Kris Marshall and Don Warrington it's got to be a cracker!
This is a magnificent hidden gem of a pub that commemorates Sir Clovesley Shovel, under whose command a ship foundered off the Isles of Scilly in 17c. He was court-martialled and shot. The pub is a beautiful example of what a pub ought to be in the traditional sense. It’s so old that it even has a cockpit in one of the two buildings straddling Craven Passage. The atmosphere is authentic and unpretentious, staff are friendly and the ale is in tip-top condition. A well-run establishment and a great place to go for a peaceful pint.
Somehow my girlfriend found this gem of a pub a year or so back, so glad she did, loved it.
Smashing historical little pub. Unfortunately couldn't stay for more than a pint so looking forward to returning for a longer visit and food

An excellent pub with fine selection of ales in a pleasant location. Friendly atmosphere and attentive staff. Will definitely return to enjoy again.
A lovely little place hidden in a small arcade. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere.
Lets be honest - it is the Badgers beer that attracts me to this place. Plenty of seating and nice atmosphere. Upstairs in the smaller bar is good for a little gathering away from the bustle.
Good food and service, 1 waiter serving upstairs. He kept his cool, v pleasant.
At one point no more people allowed in while they cleared backlog of meals.
