What a beautiful pub in a gorgeous setting . The food is absolutely amazing and portion sizes are almost too large. Warm welcome received on the first night of our stay in the area ­¤æī

Well we had our first family visit yesterday and were not disappointed! WOW! We were recommended it as 3 out 5 of us have coeliac disease. Their extensive gluten free menu is amazing and it was a delight to be able to choose from so many options and not be told things like 'you can have the pat├® but not the toast'. My 5 year old son was so happy to be able to have ordinary children's options. Thank you!!!

We were looking for something and somewhere nice to go for lunch, with traditional home cooked food menu, and we came across this little gem tucked away in Kirby Overblow. Food was lovely, staff were friendly and service was great , so next time u want to have food that's not what I call "plastic microwaved". Try this place .

We went to the Shoulder of Mutton for my birthday, my husband had booked the table as he knew they had a gluten free menu. We were shown to our table straight away and our order was taken. It was fabulous to choose from a dedicated gluten free menu, there was plenty choice and we were told that all the meals on the specials menu were also gluten free.



The pub appeared quite full but we didn't have to wait too long at all for our meal. We had both ordered steaks and they were cooked exactly as we ordered, it was delicious. For dessert I ordered gluten free sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream. It was absolutely amazing, great taste, generous portion and wonderful sauce and ice cream. My husband was equally happy with his dessert.



I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this pub for its food, great service, pleasant, comfortable and friendly environment.

My family and I visited on Sunday for lunch.

The food was delicious and Kate and her team couldn't do enough to ensure our fussy daughter was catered for too.

The only disappointment was that we didn't have room to fit in a pudding as they too looked delicious.

We will definately be back!

Lovely pub in Kirkby Overblown. Food really good, had delicious mushroom soup and then a really juicy steak with loads of veg. Service excellent, very friendly. Will def go again

Fairly unassuming from the outside but when you are in really good. We went as a family and the menu had everything we could have wanted. Quality was excellent. Prepped well, cooked really nice. Spot on. You could not fault the service and staff. Will go again!!

A wonderful friendly pub serving awesome gluten free food. Dogs welcome so a perfect place to plan a walk to/from.

A regular favourite with us. Great country pub with a good selection of ales and tasty home cooked food and welcoming atmosphere. Never fails to deliver,either for lunch or dinner. Doggie friendly too! We will be back!

Lovely beer garden at back of pub. Pleasant. First time we went food was really good, then went for lunch on a Sunday & it was very 'ordinary'.

They booked a table when we arrived the girl pointed to table not taken after 10 minutes we asked for menu when we ordered asked if we could have mashed potatoes was told No the starter we're ok the roast beef lovely the rest tasteless vegetables awful roast potatoes had been warmed up for hours and it was only 1pm at no point did we get asked if everything was alright ? We asked for dessert menu then after waiting we asked again I had lemon drizzle nice but the size of a teaspoon for ┬Ż4.95 on the plus they do gluten free food and as one of us was gluten free it helped

The staff were completely miserable like they didn't want to be there ! Not a welcome or goodbye ? When your spending over ┬Ż100 for Sunday lunch I expect more! We won't be returning ?
