Eating grass after their little escape bid last week! looking all innocent! not! the wind blew the gate open as I was opening the top gate to allow them in to their large paddock. Got plenty of exercise herding them back into their paddock! Just in case you was wondering why we closed all the gates last week! they was only loose on the camp site thank fully!

We were told the pub is alright but just a pub. That was wrong it is a pub BUT the food was beautiful, good choices really good portions and fair prices. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. They do have a small caravan/motorhome site with hookup or without really cheap. We are making a point of staying there . Please give this place a try

We visited on the evening of Friday 19th May after it was recommended by Shays Farm. I had the sizzling sweet chilli chicken while my wife chose the suet rag, neither of us were disappointed as the portions were large and the flavours and textures perfect. The staff were also very welcoming and attentive. All in all very nice and recommended highly

We used this pub recently for our Touring Tent Displays and ate every night in the pub. The pub extends a lovely warm welcome in both bar areas especially to dogs, and this was noted by the doggie treat awaiting at our table for Bella our Weimaraner :-) We had a full range of food from the menu which was not only generous in portion size, but really delisious to boot. The Guiness and Steak pie was a unamious favourite as too was the Fish & Chips and Green Thai Curry!

The food and drink represented good value and was always served with a smile what ever the time was or how busy the staff were.

The campsite is simple with some hardstanding for caravans and large pitches for tents, some with EHU. Only one thing to note is if staying a lenght of time, there are no showers available. Facilites are accessed through the pub 24/7.

We had a fantastic weekend and shall return soon :-)

We have just come back from stewarding a Lancashire & Cheshire Da meet as part of the C&CC and what a fab time we all had.We was made to feel really welcome most of our campers had a lovely home cooked meal as well as have a few drinks. The landlord and his family and staff was really friendly and more than welcoming the Karaoke started playing and everyone joined in great fun was had by all.Locals, campers, staff, and campers who wasn,t with the rally altogether having a great time.I no I will certainly be going back along with the rest of the campers who was with us and more besides. So on behalf of Lancashire & Cheshire Da thank you so much for a great time keep the coal fires burning because we will be back

User

Our second visit to area stayed at the caravan site this time. Great personable staff, food lovely, cosey dog friendly bar. We will be back and next time we will try to remember to pay our bar bill on the night lol.

User

Once again we made a point of stopping off here for the night, in the Motorhome. 5 times in 9 months now. At only £13 per night all in, you can't fault it. The gammon , chips and all that came with it was absolutely delicious, and the apple pie & custard to finish. Every time, the food is spot on and the warm and friendly welcome from the staff just makes it a very nice touch to everything.

User

My husband and I have a caravan on shays lane farm, we go to he Shrewsbury arms every chance we get. The good is amazing and the staff are really friendly and welcoming. They have a dog friendly snug which is great cos my two dogs can visit and enjoy the hospitality too. X

User

My first time at The Shrewsbury Arms and I will be going again soon. A lovely traditional pub with fantastic, friendly hospitality. I ordered a homemade steak and kidney pie. I can honestly say I have never had a pie so full of meat, absolutely beautiful. Although I didn't sit outside I did notice it had a lovely family and dog friendly outdoor space.

User

Lovely traditional pub. We walked along a maize field from our campsite at Shay's farm to the Shrewsbury Arms and we're pleasantly surprised at the child-friendly beer garden and welcoming staff at this traditional country pub in the heart of Cheshire.

User

Lovely pub decent meals great for us when we parked out back with our tourer no need to use car.

User

Lovely little camp site, basic but still great value for money. Gorgeous traditional pub, very tasty and generous portions of homemade food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will be returning.

User

I live this pub. It's a short walk from where our caravan is sited. They make the best Guinness and steak pie ever. Huge portions. Really friendly staff and very helpful. The unicorn beer by Robinsons is very moorish. A bit too likeable if anything.

User

I have had cheesy garlic bread and hot turkey baguette with chips and it's been really nice and great service

User

User

Came for a meal last night was amazed! All had starters and a main, the mains are so big you don't need a starter, the food is gorgeous, will defiantly be going back!

User

An absolutely top night at the Open Mic session with such amazing local talent from Chester, Liverpool, Wales. Great fun with percussion interaction..!! A fabulous get together with lots of lovely people, great food & drink. Loved it ...!!

Highly recommend the "43" shots..!! Thank you ... see you soon :D

User

Absolutely brilliant place to eat and drink. Warm friendly welcome and good freshly cooked food with a good pint of ale what more can you ask 🙃

User

Welcoming, nice staff, food not great but a Sunday roast is never as good as home cooked. Bit of a wait but we weren't in a hurry. Would we return? Yes.

User

We stay at Shays Farm camp site ten minutes walkaway. We enjoy having an occasional meal at Shrewsbury Arms. Food is excellent and service is good. My only grouse, they dont respond to bookings for some reason

User

Main meal was really nice! My partner said it was the nicest roast he had had out..... the service was absolutely shocking though, maybe some staff training should be in order as none of them were on the ball and then the place would be perfect!

User

I come here quite often you get lovely pint very friendly ppl usually fantastic for but came for mothers day 2018 and the food was awful will be a miss for a while..

User

Waited over an hour for food with no explanation from the staff so walked out!
