What can I say. What a pub and what a view that accompanies it. Nothing nicer than entering a spacious, affordable and cool little bar over looking the beautiful marina of Portishead. Very friendly bar staff, clean bar and very fairly priced. Newly opened so to the other comments - give them a break! Every new establishment will have the odd 'teething probelm' but if anything if will help The Sirens grow. Keep up the great work and thank you for a being a lovely place to visit ďż˝

What a lovely pub with a beautiful view! Had very chilled evening drinks here, friendly polite staff, great choice of gin. Will definitely be returning.

User

What a find. A new decent pub that’s got its priorities right. No window dressing or fake village innery here, just good beer, a pleasant atmosphere and staff that care about the important things. It had been open a week and a day when I tried it out and the odd bit of character has already started to seep in with a donated pew from a fellow publican here and a substantial workbench type table there. Some commentators have decried the lack of soft furnishings and rugs as a sort of noisy conspiracy, saying that it’s too echoey and hard of floor but either hush up a bit or take down one of your own spare rugs and leave it behind when you go home. If it suits the pub I’m sure it’ll still be there on your return and you could take your friends down to show them how thoughtful you are and how much you care about your new local.

I wish the owners all the best and will certainly be back soon and hopefully with friends. I might dig out something to hang on the wall too.

We were there for a private party after a Christening on Sunday afternoon. Lovely venue. It is air conditioned in this extremely hot weather which was a great help. Beautiful views of the marina for stunning group photos with interesting rustic decor. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Will definitely go there again.

User

We visited the bar at the weekend and really loved it. A great selection of beer (says hubby!) and I even tried a delicious fruit beer that was very moreish! Wine selection was also excellent. We look forward to coming back again soon and can't wait to see how they develop the interior. Wonderful, knowledgeable and very friendly staff too. Good luck The Siren's Calling. We'll be back.

Popped in over the weekend for a drink and was pleasantly surprised. I, like others expected a modern bar on the Marina however I love a traditional pub with a selection of local beers and that's what was on offer. My wife and I have lived in Portishead for 5 years and have always been disappointed that some of the units at this end of the Marina have been unoccupied. We did comment that some soft furnishings, rugs, cushions, pictures would help 'warm' the pub up but I'm sure this will come in time. Friendly staff who let us sample a couple of beers before choosing and were working very hard clearing glasses. Good to see Bristol Beer Factory beers. I would like to see New Bristol Brewery too. Get them down for one of their tap takeovers! Some tasting evenings would be cool too. Thank you for introducing another drinking establishment to the local area, offering some variety. See you again soon.

User

Lovely to sit and look down the marina, especially on a very hot sunny afternoon with one glass of wine, and another for my husband of a beer he hadn’t tried before and really enjoyed. Looking forward to when food is part of the experience. Good that music is in the agenda too sometimes.

It's rare to find a drinking establishment that is different and has resisted conforming to hackneyed existing business models you find on every high street. In this, The Siren's Calling has been successful and has to be applauded. It is a no nonsense bar in a superb location. The owner has obviously dedicated his efforts to showcasing what he considers to be some of the worlds best beers. My wife and I have been a couple of times and enjoy it.

TSC is a canvas that is still being painted and I have been told the decor is in the process of evolving. I think once the word is out and the bar has settled in, The Siren's Calling will become a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike.

User

If you like quality and choice, what ever you drink, this is the place. It is turning into a great local. A friendly atmosphere and the staff are great. I like it very much.

User

I had a really lovely evening at The Siren over the bank holiday weekend. The atmosphere was relaxed and the bar staff were really friendly and knowledgable about their beer and wine. I’m not a beer drinker but was recommended a couple of great fruit beers and the Rioja was delicious.

They’re obviously still working on the finishing touches so I can’t wait to see how it looks in the coming weeks.

It’s a great addition to the marina and I’ll definitely be back!

User

Great selection of ales on offer! We just happened to be walking past, didn't realise this place was here and had to go in to sample something! A friendly helpful barman, it was hard to read the ales at the back. Definitely not a 'classy wine bar' as some of these comments are complaining, but a really good, beer focused pub! Decor was fine, I enjoyed my visit. We intend to come back when one of us doesn't have to drive!

User

Great new bar with lots of interesting beer choices. It was great to try some new beers. Location was stunning. What a lovely place to spend a summers evening. Good luck with the new venture!

User

Andy was kind enough to host our daughter’s Christening celebration at The Sirens Calling and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough as a venue for an event/celebration! Andy was extremely accommodating and our day couldn’t have turned out more perfect - our guests absolutely loved it. Thanks Andy & team - appreciate it so much.

User

A very pleasnt pub with lovely view looking out out over the marina and of course great beer

User

A really friendly local bar with a great selection of drinks. I spoke to the guy behind the bar who said they still developing the interior so keen to see what they do. The area has been in need of a place like this for ages. I've already made it my new local:)

User

Nice and relaxing drink, nice choice of beers, gin for her indoors, only a stone’s throw from home, and we were allowed to take the dog in, what’s not to like.

User

First visit on the third day of opening. Whilst a warm welcome and good front of house from the familiar faces behind the bar I couldn’t help but feel a little lost in its direction or placement as an establishment? By no means a bad thing just wasn’t sure and probably needs some time to bed in and a few more visits from us. Is it the wine bar that was touted with dishes of cold cuts and cheese or an older gentlemen’s real ale bar. I hope it becomes the promised wine bar that was touted but maybe now he decoration is fixed a CAMERA real ale bar is probably more likely?

However, if there was anything that I could recommend would be a taster racks of 3-5 beers for x amount. There’s large choice of beers, lagers and ciders; but not your every day high street offerings so a taster rack might be of use to introduce people to the new drinks on offer. Rather than offer everybody coming in a taste of each on offer then selling maybe only a pint in return? Saves on time and gives a nicer choice for the customer.

Wine list is fairly extensive and will suit most budgets and occasions although I was on cider today so can’t comment on the quality versus price. Bottle price is attached, wine by the glass seems to be a different offering to these; I could be wrong and correct me if I am?

Whilst on price it seems fairly standard high street pub/bar pricing; it ain’t weatherspoons (and I wouldn’t want it to be) and it’s cheaper than Aqua / Venga so sits nicely for me.

I look forward to the introduction of outside tables if you get the clearance from planning/council. As a smoker it’s kind of a prerequisite for me in choice of bar and pub.

I will pop back in over the next couple of weeks and put an update to this then once I’ve formed a proper/fuller opinion.

Wish them success.

Good choice of alcoholic beverages.Well stocked and thought out bar.The bar stools are a bit low though and the signage on the cask barrels are a strugle to read from the other side of the bar. I would recomend a menu so you can make your mind up walst waiting to be served.A nice pint of German pilsner I had. Would of stayed to try more different offerings but could not stand the noise level of echoing voices in a concreate orange box. With the most unsightly and uncomfortable old tea room style tables and chairs.

May try again when they put up some curtains, lampshades, pictures carpets. Or even some check table cloths, sawdust on the floor, hay bales against the walls and some chickens for good measure. To help with the acoustic absorbsion.Good luck and make your own mind up!

User

A disappointment. Great location that should have inspired a modern look. Instead dark and dated. Doesn't feel like the wine bar it promised to be. Plus all the concrete makes the place very noisy to the point of uncomfortable. Best of luck but for the foreseeable future plenty of nicer places to go for a quiet drink.
