About The Sixth Form Bolton
Welcome to the Official Bolton Sixth Form College Facebook page.
The Sixth Form Bolton Description
As the only Sixth Form College in Bolton, we specialise in 16-19 education, offering you a wide range of A Levels and Vocational courses.
We will find you a course whatever your ability. For most of you this means taking an A Level programme or a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, but some of you will take a BTEC Level 2 course or BTEC Level 1 course before progressing to higher levels.
For those students who achieve over 6 A-A*’s at GCSE Level, there is the opportunity to join the college’s specialist programme called the Baccalaureate Group.
For those students who wish to pursue a science based career and achieve a minimum of A or A* grades in 2 science subjects will have the opportunity to apply for Science Academy.
Students’ who have a keen interest in sport will also have the additional opportunity to apply for one of our excellent sports academies. This will run alongside your academic classes.
We also encourage you to take advantage of additional courses or qualifications from our wide enrichment programme, all of which will add to your enjoyment of college life.

You will be joining a vibrant college situated on two campuses, one in Farnworth and one in Bolton Town Centre. Both campuses make an excellent place to study and we have worked especially hard to make sure that you have the most up to date facilities that you deserve, including: Specialist science labs, photographic studios, professional standard sporting facilities, dance studio, theatres and music studio.
As a student at Bolton Sixth Form College, we want you to reach your full potential and will support you both with your studies and through our strong Learning Mentor and pastoral care system.
We believe in the power of education to change lives for the better; your future is assured with us and we will provide you with the next step on the ladder after school, leading to university or employment. The majority of our students currently progress to higher education and university.
