The Slipway, Port Isaac

Service is a little slow
But why rush in this beautiful village
All the sites and sounds of port Wenn
You can sit and wait and watch and take in the village

We were in the restaurant, not in the hotel. They serve great food at reasonable prices.

We were looking around for some thing to eat my partner can't eat gluten we went in the slipway and was told they only do gluten free food in the summer !!!! Do people who can't eat gluten stop eating in the winter or is there a medical cure at port Isaac??? Lovely place I just not this restaurant for us.

Lovely restaurant and view. great setting. The food was delicious however took an age to arrive, managed to go on a walk and get back in time for food to arrive.

Has improved by a large margin since my last visit. It is now modern and cheap for the area, I would recommend.

The slipway is a beautiful place at the bottom of the road and 20 meters fom the sea in a lovely scenic cove, we spent 2 nights there and really enjoyed it we had a room at the back so no seaview ( only in the front was a seaview ). The rooms were clean and lovely soft pillows and soft mattress, Tea and coffee making facilities also in the room.the food in the restaurant was excellent, i really enjoyed everything i ate. Breakfast was in the price we paid for the room, fruit juice and cereals to start with fresh fruit, yoghurt, tea or coffee with toast then had options of breakfast from a full english or smoked salmon on a muffin topped with poached egg, or kippers etc. What we liked was the freshness of the locally sourced food. If you drive, you can park outside the hotel to unload the cases and then there is a public car park at the top of the street which costs £5.00 per 24 hours. The hardest thing was to find the 5 one pound coins to put in the machine, local shops etc will not give you change only if you buy something as its something like a 40 mile round trip to get change. Everyone in the hotel was very helpful and kind, nothing was too much trouble. You have free wifi in the rooms and hotel. It was one of the best breaks in this country we have ever had. I cannot recommend this hotel enough from the location, food, the staff, the room, we really had a beautiful chilled break.

Brilliant relaxing break. Couple days spent in room 3 which is very comfy and very clean. Ok have stayed in larger rooms but most people only use the room to sleep and perfectly adequate. Staff very friendly and obliging. Breakfast lovely, good choice and pancakes with bacon and maple syrup beautiful. Evening meals very good one only moan would be menu stayed same both days but only small issue. Would definately recommend to family and friends.
