Went for my son's Birthday on Saturday night , staff ensured a table for 16, yes we did wait but on a busy Saturday night you shouldn't be surprised. It also made sure we were not rushed and had time to enjoy each others company something we British are not so good at, eating is a social experience not an eating challenge, loved the food and staff were great. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We were at the smoke pit on Thursday evening for our sons birthday. Booked a table for 8 people. Food was delicious, and didn’t wait too long for it. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

We had our belated Christmas party at the Smoke Pit on Saturday night, there was 50 of us and we really couldn’t fault the service or the food. Getting out 50 hot meals surely is no easy task. The team were accommodating when I approached them asking for a bespoke set menu, it worked really well especially with the alternative to a dessert of having a shot instead! So, a massive thank you to all that worked on Saturday night and really tried hard to keep us topped up with the many drinks we were ordering and generally looking after us! I’m sure we will return as a group in the future again. �

The food was lovely! Thought the menu might have been abit overly priced when looking through the menu but when food arrived i could see why as the portions were big. Great atmosphere and staff too. Will visit again when in the area :)

The food was beautiful and the selection of spicy sauces was heaven..we went early and it was quiet so we enjoyed not having a big crowd but even if we were to go later we would still enjoy it. We took home a doggy bag with all our food combined which I ate for breakfast. Bloody lovely. Fantastic quirky place

Service was amazing. Staff very happy, polite and smiley, which is a great thing to see.

Food was on a whole other level - Absolutely delicious. Definitely trying a different burger next time, but can totally recommend the Donald Rump burger! ^_^

Great food! We had a late lunch here. Hubby and I shared a platter giving us a bit of everything. Amazing! Highly recommended if you fancy some good bbq meats.

Great atmosphere with a funky steam punk feel. The burger platters are fantastic - you won’t have room for a starter! Highly recommend the Dirty burger with ribs and buffalo wings. Wait a while to then have desert as the peanut brownie stack is soooooo good! Also have an amazing range of bourbons and cocktails. Good service and friendly staff. Cannot rave about this place enough.

Food was out of this world. Massive portions. I went into a complete food coma. The cocktails were amazing and the staff were superb and friendly. Can't wait for my next visit.

First visit was really impressed with the food, staff and ambience, second visit ( following day ) confirmed my first impressions. Would definitely recommend, fabulous food, substantial portions, awesome!!! Well done

Arrived tonight for a belated anniversary meal with my husband-table was booked couple days in advance. After not checking the menu in advance (a usual task i do before going anywhere for 1st time)I was not disapointed, plenty of choice for pork, lamb, ribs, steak and burgers-only minor mark is lack of choice of chicken dishes other than wings. Oh gosh where to start......staff are super friendly and patient as i could not make up my mind and helpful with full knowledge of all their products, atmosphere was bang on with great balance of music to crowd noise, funky decor. Service was prompt but not rushed food was served hot and fairly quick...but it was early in the evening.The food is served in quirky enamal trays/pots and the portions were way bigger than either of us expect......each component of the meal (southen fried chicken burger) was presented appealingly and frest tasting, flavours were just taste bud blowing...highly recommend and am looking forward to going back soon.

Amazing food the meat was all melt in the mouth delicious . Service and atmosphere all fantastic when we come out of this meat coma we’ll be back �

Delicious food decent sized portions, good relaxed surroundings. Staff helpful and friendly. Not the cheapest place in town but you get what you pay for. Can’t wait to go back again

We were there for a large birthday group, 26 I think.

I have to say, ordering was slow, and then it took an hour and a half for the food to come (they said an hour) also paying was slow.

My medium rare rib eye (£25.00) was 1/6 solid fat and a defibrillator would have revived it... perhaps it was because the griddle it arrived on wasn’t overly hot. I didn’t send it back because they were obviously struggling and I’d be waiting another 5/10 mins! The salad on the plate was pathetic considering it’s the cheapest part of the meal.

Some of the staff were really nice and helpful (esp the guy with the beard) ... one of the girls was extremely stroppy and rude! One needed a bath and deodorant... they were all very young, and although some were very helpful there seemed to be a very “I’m not answerable to anyone and I don’t give a shit” attitude.

I couldn’t help thinking that with an “adult” or a grown up “leadership” presence the please could be amazing .... could be!!!

But it’s not... it’s mediocre and expensive.

What a shame. When this place first opened everything was amazing, flavoursome meats, well balanced sauces and great sides.



Now, however, the place has become style over substance. The brisket is literally drowning in the saltiest gravy I’ve ever had the displeasure of trying, it is no longer brisket, the texture is now that of wet mush. In fact, fries were salty, tobacco onions were pure salt. Just bite the bullet and rename yourselves “The Salt Pit”.



But to top it all off they’ve ruined the mac’n’cheese, now with the consistency of an old car tyre and literally no taste whatsoever.....congratulations.
