We are on holiday and decided to try this place , so pleased we did the food was fantastic all the staff are very friendly and very helpful what sunrises me even more was we were allowed in with our 2 small dogs and they even got a treat of some turkey with gravy ! Would definitely recommend this pub to everyone!

Today was my Mum s 90th Birthday . The dining area was full and busy , we then arrived with our pre booked table of 23 . ! Even busier .

The staff were absolutely amazing , excellent service , friendly & helpful . The food was beautifully cooked , some of us had meals from the menu others the carvery , All were superb .

Thank you , Pete , Nick and your teams for a lovely afternoon , for helping to make Mums day very special .

Lovely food! Amazing gluten free menu and the bar area is also dog friendly � We enjoyed a lovely meal and dessert, and the staff were really friendly too. Will definitely be paying the smugglers another visit.

Incredible food and drinks, fantastic staff and service and of course, a beautiful view. It is just such a shame that we only discovered it on the last day of our holiday, but we will definitely be back. The staff went above and beyond for us, carrying a high chair up the steep slope outside to where we were sat, they were incredibly helpful, courteous and friendly. Food was prompt and delicious, and I look forward to trying more from the menu.

Has always been our favourite place to stop for a drink after days out. A lovely place to sit and soak up the lovely view. Decided to book the carvery and was so glad we did. Very friendly service and very accommodating for us as a family. The food was sooo nice, fresh tasty and plenty to choose from. We were also offered a spare plate for my 2 year old rather than ordering a full portion of carvery which is so refreshing. It allowed me to dish her some veggies and share some meat. Will defo be back for food was super impressed.

Great place to eat, staff were excellent at finding a suitable table for our disabled mother & dogs. Cavery on Sunday was excellent with a great variety of food. Booked up to come back the following Friday & again staff & food were great. Good variety on the menu can throughly recommend the steak & kindly pudding the meat fell apart it was so tender, & lots of vegiterian options available. Looking forward to coming back again.

Five customers, five empty plates - need I say more. This was our first visit to The Smugglers, and we will certainly be back next time we are in the area. Lovely food, friendly staff and not to hard on the wallet. Highly recommended!

Staff very busy with the carvery but always time to help separate bar easy and quick service and good quality clean drinks. Arrived early for my table booking yet my table was ready anyway even though half an hour early so no tight booking schedules here. Food was a bit of a wait I chose the steak and kidney pudding and I get why the wait. ..... An actual pudding not a pie super awesome would have waited longer for the quality of this. It was obviously pre maid because was a proper suet pud but definitely cooked whilst I was waiting hence the time and it must have had a whole cow inside as well as a whole kidney. Awesomeness !!! Had to leave some of the chips to make sure had room for the amazing choice of sweet selection. Top this with the views well you can't go wrong. Well done all xx

Arrived with 5 adults and 4 grandchildren food was absolutely fab with all meals and no complaints what so ever even grandchildren cleared there plates, deserts were amazing and shocked us all with proportions, compliments to the chefs and staff well done we'll be back next year a credit to the company.

1st visit to the Smugglers Inn today and really enjoyed...the food and service was very good...we were made to feel very welcome even with our dog...if we weren't going home tomorrow we would have been back for lunch again....hope to see you next year. X

We introduced friends to the Smugglers Inn, they really enjoyed the food however they found it incredibly hot in the restaurant (and so did we ) !! Could I suggest electric fans or air conditioning installed ? to make the experience much more enjoyable.

Stopped off on here on our way back from Babbacombe with my family. Car park nice and big and ample outside seating for a warm sunny August evening. Staff were very friendly and helpful....only had some sides as we'd eaten earlier...this place has to serve the best cheesy chips anywhere!! And all washed down with a gorgeous pint of Devon Mist cider....a return visit will be on the cards when we return to South Devon �

I ordered the Smugglers fish salad which was lovely but after eating half my bread I discovered it was mouldy!!! Staff gave us a round of drinks to say sorry.

Three of us had lunch at the Smugglers yesterday. One meal arrived and was nearly finshed before the other two were served and that was after a reminder. We were not impressed especially as we had a guest with us.

Price is 10.95 for adults carvery

And you only get 2 small slices of meat

Roast potatoes were like mash in a bowl

And not crispy at all

Red cabbage

Carrots

Green cabbage

Cauliflower... not much taste of cheese

Me and my partners visited for a meal this week and been really looking forward to trying to food has heard great things but unfortunate was very disappointed. We waited over 40 minutes for our starter. We ordered creamy garlic mushrooms and when it arrived it was clearly just mushrooms in mushroom soup with some cheese on and couldn’t taste any garlic at all and was far to much for a starter. Then we waited another half hour for our main which again was very disappointing. My partner ordered smugglers chicken and the chicken position was tiny and had hardly any bacon, sauce or cheese on it and was very dry (over cooked) they’re was actually more chips and salad and than chicken. I ordered the gammon. Gammon was over cooked and really tough the egg had started to discolour because it had been sat in the oil to long and over all the whole thing was really greasy when I cut my mushroom grease cane pouring out and the onion ring were soggy. Save to say we won’t be returning, was extremely disappointed
