Sobar is the cool funky bar in the heart of Southampton's student land with big screens, comfy chairs and a warm and friendly atmosphere. .come and visit us for dancing, drinking and chilling in our oversized, heated beer garden.
We are a student bar but all ex students are welcome. If you are a student at a university outside of Southampton make sure you bring your student id for discounted entry. Non-students are welcomed as guests of students or by prior arrangement.

What a lovely man is Neville - I'd come back to Southampton just to see him - very welcoming to a couple of 'older' ladies �
Was there last night and the staff were brilliant,as a wheelchair user they couldn't do enough to help me , although the owner should really put a few ramps inside and one at the front,apart from that I had a brilliant night , thanks for all your help ���
The good old quad vod days of uni. It was like jesters, but not a shit hole �
Such an amazing place. Was in here dancing away with my besties all night on Saturday and fell out the door at 4am!! Best night out i've had in ages! Give it a go, you absolutely won't be disappointed! Cannot wait to be back boogying and catching my prey this weekend😜😜😜 Watch out boys!

Had my first night at The Sobar last night with DJ Tipper "Scotty Wilkes" .....had a brilliant time..everyone so friendly,great atmosphere.....great music and danced my legs off ������
Great venue spacious garden. Lots of different events. Atmosphere is amazing. If you haven't already been to Sobar get yourself down there.
Great club for cheap drinks and if you like a bit of cheesy pop �

Don't go on Fridays as it is a bit dead, but on Tuesdays it is class! All about the quad vodkas for £2.00! Although not enough room on the dance floor for my moves ;)

Amazing day at Carnival Garden Party! Nice vibes! Big up to Security! Nice to be asked for ID �
I attended the 80's Garden party of Friday the 1st of June. The tickets were priced at £5 were advertised as containing as part of the events proceedings. Upon arrival it was only after we inquired about the BBQ only to find that they had cancelled due to "poor numbers." At no point beforehand were we informed of this change of which the ticket pricing was coupled with. What we were treated to instead, was an 'insane décor' which in reality was barren, empty bar with no atmosphere. Being charged £7 for a fish bowl which was instead given a single plastic cup, no where near the size of an actual fish bowl and was still charged the original price.
The tickets are advertised to 'expect 80's disco music all day and night, some insane décor, a BBQ and much more.' What we got instead was an almost empty bar, no BBQ, a horrendous toilet situation, in which I was told by a male friend none of the toilets had working locks. It's no surprise that people started leaving almost as soon as they had arrived. No one should be asked to pay an entrance fee just for the privilege of paying more money.
Garden party can be heard 3 streets away, with Windows closed. When we speak to you, you take no notice. Not appropriate for a residential area.
