The South Devon Pilates Studio is Torquay's only dedicated Pilates Equipment Studio. The equipment includes the Pilates reformer, Pilates Trapese and Wunda chair which help our clients get the most benefit out of their Pilates Classes. We also hold regular matwork classes for beginners and intermediates.
Catherine Ogilvy-Stuart, owner of South Devon Pilates in Torquay, has been teaching the Pilates Method for over 14 years now. Originally Catherine trained as a dancer she first gained a qualification in Matwork with Bodycontrol Pilates in 2000. After a brief spell working for Bodycontrol, she taught group matwork and private matwork for 7 years receiving many referrals from osteopaths and physiotherapists. She then trained in Pilates equipment at the Brighton Pilates Studio, taking classes and learning about the atmosphere of an equipment based Studio. In 2005 she took further equipment training /exams with Polestar Pilates in London and consequetly set up her own equipment studio in Reigate in Surrey which she ran for 7 years. She is fully insured to teach both matwork and studio equipment and regularly attends workshops, conferences and courses to keep abreast of new techniques and developments. She now lives in Devon with her husband and 2 children.
