Ales On Today

User

Went here for a birthday meal. My wife and eye had heard great things about this place and we're not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. They were very attentive throughout the meal. The food was excellent and they event created a slightly different dish for my wife who is gluten free. All in all very impressed at the service, food and price. We will be returning.

User

We, a party of 15, had Christmas dinner here for the first time after hearing good things from friends and neighbours. Both food and service were excellent and we will definitely come back. Much praise to Mike and his family for giving up their day to make ours memorable.

User

We dropped in...staff very cheerful and efficient...atmosphere clean and up lifting...food was most pleasing for each of us ...table of 4. We would be most willing to return, any time.

User

Thank you for a wonderful evening on Saturday evening - we brought friends over and we all enjoyed the cosiness of the open fire in your main bar area and then into the restaurant where we all had starters and mains. The food was absolutely gorgeous - and even my fussy husband was impressed with his white wine mussels and pork belly and couldn't stop complimenting it! All the staff were very warm and friendly and we shall certainly be coming back to enjoy the other delights on the menu!

User

Spotted cow is a good walk from home - so by the time we get there the food and drinks taste all the better for having been earned. Well worth a visit.

User

My daughter lives in Angmering Village and we absolutely loved visiting the Spotted Cow, we have now moved from Worthing to Swanbourne Park, we moved last Thursday and have had a meal in there twice since then and we are thrilled with the delicious food, and we find the staff are extremely pleasant and friendly, this is definitely our local and Sunday lunch will be a regular event x

User

Moved to the area a few months back and love having this pub so local. The ales are always in top condition and a good selection to choose from. Friendly bar staff always happy to greet you and a good choice of home cooked food too.

User

Me and my wife went for Fish and Chips for the last time we're in Great Britain for this time. We loved it, and the beer of course. A lovely young woman served us. Soon we'll return to Norway. But we'll be back later. Thanks.

User

I have visited with friends at the Spotted Cow several times during the last few months. Menu offers an excellent choice of dishes all cooked and presented to a high standard. The Staff are very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going again on Wednesday.

User

Great food and atmosphere. We enjoyed the assortment of different ciders and beers. Such a lot of choice. Good garden with lovely roses to sit out in the sun.

User

First time here and it was lovely food, friendly staff and kids ate all their food which is saying something!! Will be returning again x

User

Fabulous setting, exquisite food beautifully presented. 5 stars aren’t enough...

User

Excellent food and service with great choice of local quality beers and ciders. What more could you want from a local hostelry.

User

We had our Christmas work meal here, food was lovely great service and we all had a great time. We all carried on drinking and rearranging the seating area and staff put on Xmas songs for my friends to sing along to. Recommended.

User

First visit for me - lovely setting, great food and friendly staff. Only downer was that I selected an item from the specials menu which was a bit pricier than I would normally go for at lunchtime, but looked a good option (salad on a warm day always good). When I went to pay, I was surprised that the bill for this and a half of shandy came to almost £20. Turned out I’d been charged £16.95 rather than the £11.50 stated on the menu for my food. I went to get a copy of the menu to show the cashier - to discover that the menus in the main part of the building had been changed (by hand) to reflect the higher price. Those in our area, and therefore the information on which my choice was based on, had not been changed. Not good business practice in my book, so I may not return - shame as otherwise a great place.

User

First visit to this pub, very warm welcome , had the roast beef , it was absolutely delicious, (no horse raddish sauce) they asked if I wanted to change my meal , staff were really nice and friendly, will definitely be going back .

User

£7 for chicken sandwich. I was expecting nice granary bread for that price. Unfortunately not. Just thin, limp wholemeal. Not again I'm afraid

User

It's the staff I did not like. I Went for a drink with friend and her 19 year old daughter, unfortunately my friends daughter forgot her ID so quite understandably she was not served alcohol by the bar staff so we then ordered drinks, 2 alcoholic and one soft drink and sat in the beer garden. Upon my friend and I retuning to the bar for a second round of 2 alcoholic and one soft drink the barmaid questioned quite rudely if one of the drinks was for "that young girl" to which I replied no. We took our drinks outside and was immediately followed out by the barmaid who I think quite rudely raised her voice in rather an aggressive tone and said if one drop of alcohol, just one is consumed by her (pointing at my friends daughter) they we would all be thrown off the premises.

Rude!

The barmaid was out of order we thought, we had not purchased the drinks for my friends daughter, we had told her that, She just got on her high horse and was fairly aggressive to innocent paying customers. Fair enough if she'd caught my friends daughter drinking the alcoholic drink but that wasn't the case, we had literally just put them on the table and was sitting down.

I won't be rushing back!

User

Food ok, service very rushed. Felt incredibly uncomfortable like the customer was inconvenience. Won't be going back.
