We were a party of 15 (including 3 children) celebrating my mum's 80th birthday and the staff could not have been more helpful. The food was good, the pub was lovely and we had a great time. Could not fault the staff for service. A lovely experience!

User

Sevice was amazing, restaurant was stunning and the food was absolutely amazing and a good portion size as well as good value for money. Will certainly be going back.

User

Diverted off the canal during a bike ride into Chichester last week for a pint. Staff so friendly we came back today for dinner. Great food and service. Top job

User

Customer service was excellent, we felt very relaxed and welcomed.

The food was excellent quality and cook perfectly ( compliments to the kitchen ).

The menu isn't over powering, if you want a pie then you can have a pie......your not sitting there trying to chose between 8 different sorts of pie?

value for money.

Highly recommended

Can’t fault it. We were kept waiting a little while between courses but were kept informed and treated to some free homemade bread to keep us going. Apparently the chefs are making everything from scratch so explains a little why you wait at busy periods.

The quality of the dishes was superb, good portions and not over priced. Lots of menu choice.

Will be returning !

Lovely, cosy atmosphere, created with effective lighting and lanterns. Decor was modern, yet not austere.

Service was helpful with clear knowledge of the menu and a real interest in how we found the food.

My husband had a baked Camembert - this was delicious - baked just right, as often it can be not totally cooked through to the middle. It came with a delicious, smoky, onion chutney and though the menu said it came with toast (which had put me off ordering it, as I had images of sliced white alongside) there was a beautifully oven-baked white baguette, just the right amount for dipping!

His chicken Satay was less good (I didn't taste it, but he felt that the sauce was a little lacking in flavour). The meat was well cooked though.

I ordered Rib-eye steak and upon first bite I was struck by the delicious char-grilled taste of this steak and then noticed how pink, succulent and juicy it was inside (the chef interpreting my medium-rare request just right!) This came with a huge mushroom, vine tomatoes and tastily dressed salad leaves - oh, and crispy skinny fries! (The only thing I would change here is that a better ketchup is bought in - this was a little watery and didn't match up to the quality of the food!)

I persuaded my husband to have a dessert, as he is a real sugar freak and the waiter explained there was a pear, blackberry and strawberry crumble on the menu. However, he found this disappointing (and when I tried some I had to agree) - overall the dessert was over-sweet, the crumble mix being incredibly sweet and the fruit being a little on the bland and over-sweet side, instead of having a slight tang to contrast with the sweet crumble.

A lovely atmosphere and great service with a menu we are keen to explore further. Highly recommend!

Has been taken over since I last visited,

However, lovely welcome with the dogs.

Lovely 2 course lunch and friendly service.

Was disappointed in the food last time I went so I'm glad it's improved

Well done guys

User

Quite disappointing. The restaurant has changed hands and the new landlord refused to accept our Hi-Life card, apparently they don't accept them any more. Fair enough, so why advertise 2 for one with Hi-Life?!

The food itself took 1 hour and 10 mins to arrive. we were told there would be a wait but never informed how long, we wouldn't have bothered!

Understandably when the food finally did arrived we were very hungry. Both my husband and I chose the burger (for ease!) and when it arrived the burger bun was burned. Burned enough for the charcoal taste to dominate the burger taste! by that time we were so hungry we just wanted to eat and leave.

Not one waitress/waiter came to ask us how are meal was during or after we had finished, or if we wanted puddings or the bill. We had to flag one down as she cleaned the table next to us. Ah! a positive, the tables were clean and the venue itself was very attractive. such a shame the customer service and lack of focus let it down.

Unsure if we want to return.
