The Square

We sat outside for an afternoon drink in the sun, great service, fantastic location, we love it at the Square for just a drink or a great meal.

We are thought we would try this place with my Portuguese in laws, guess what they loved it the food was excellent. Everyone made us feel so welcome.

If your after a taste of Portugal you must try this place well done guys

This is a Super venue, for all occasions, the food is excellent , the cocktails are great and the staff are amazing. Give it a go !

The fish was excellent and immaculately fresh - my partner ended up selecting giant (and I mean GIANT) prawns while my salt cod in cream is as good as any I remember from visits to Portugal. Very friendly staff. Offered to put a cork in the wine bottle if we wanted to take the unfinished wine with us!

Popped in for a coffee and a pastel de nata. Very smooth latte and warm pastry. Lovely spot to sit out in Henley and watch the world go by. Really nice smiley waiters.

Once again nuno valdo Ricardo and the rest of the team excelled themselves.... Took my two daughters Lola-Bea & Lily-may and boyfriends to celebrate lola's 21st..... Food 10/10 drinks 10/10 service 10/10 its as simple as that... Simply the best..... �

My wife and I took a trip to Henley last weekend and we booked a table here, I found the restaurant via tripadvisor as it had good reviews, its a very nice place, our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I had the fish soup for a starter and the mixed fish platter for main, both were delicious. I would definitely go again.

If you live in Henley, near Henley or visiting Henley, visit this restaurant. I couldnt describe what a great place it is or how good the food is.

Have visited twice recently and had excellent service and food both times. As on a previous post a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by (weather permitting). Family visit with fresh food , friendly staff and enjoyable evening for all. Would definitely recommend.

Great place to eat. Wonderful Portuguese food and great freindly service. It’s a family favourite for us.

Great fish dishes, simply cooked but delicious. The sagres is perfectly chilled and the wine too. Lovely staff.

Best seafood I've eaten in the 6 years I've lived in the UK. So so happy we found this place. Good service too.

Always had a good meal there. The only downside is it can get very hot in the Bain dining area because of the very low ceiling

Food was great enormous portions all though service was good it was a bit slow but they were very busy I will go there again

The Portuguese authenticity has gone!

Everything seems to have balsamic vinegar as a sauce,don't get me wrong I love balsamic vinegar but with Portuguese steak?

My veals liver had exactly the same sauce as my partners bife da vazia done the Portuguese way it has red wine and garlic in this case Balsamic.

Very disappointed

Thought we’d try out a different restaurant just around the corner from us. We like to feel welcomed and greeted on arrival and were immediately disappointed.

After standing a few minutes waiting to be sat in an almost empty restaurant, we eventually asked if we could sit for lunch at a specific table. “Yes, anywhere you like”.

Eventually menus arrived just dumped on our table.

After waiting further, we left without ordering explaining to the staff who just shrugged without apology.

Moved on to Cafe Buendia. What a difference! Warm welcome and prompt attention. Chalk and cheese.
