great freindly pub with one of the best selections or cask and keg beers. the staff and amazing and clued up on the beer they serve. plus amazing discount on match days

Two of us had a great lunch, I had Ham Egg and Salad and it was perfect in every way, my work colleague had Pie, Chips Mushy peas and gravy and he was well happy too.

10/10 for food and service,

One of best pubs if not the best all round, great selections of beer, ipa and stouts! Food is banging too, especially the sausages with three types of mustard on! Everything seems so fresh too!

Great warm atmosphere! Often visit and all friends I've taken love it too!



Bar staff are really friendly! & seem to give you a time of day and always a good conversations with them too!! Keep up the good work!



I also drive from Rotherham some days just to come here for a couple! I love the place that much!!

If I could, I'd dig a tunnel from our offices to this place. It really is so good now. I love the Thornbridge beer selection and the staff are excellent. The atmosphere is so changed since it was taken over - food is very good too and good value. All in all I am going to claim this as my new front room! Thanks guys and gals, keep up the good work!

Happened upon this place purely by accident and so glad we did. Small menu hinted at good food, but it exceeded our expectations. My chicken burger was pretty outstanding, chips were perfect in every way and my husband and stepson’s pies looked even better than my own pies. Honestly, if there had been a pattern on my plate, I’d have eaten that as well. Please come open your style of pub in my neighbourhood in Chester. Please please please �

Great food, fantastic selection of ales, friendly staff and a really chilled out atmosphere! The food came quickly and was hot and obviously fresh! Can't recommen the pizza's enough, for the price they are just brilliant. Definitely becoming back again, want to try the Sunday roast!

This is a great place to meet. I will return over and over again, but I hope that management understand the important balance of satisfying their local cumostomers, whilst not tolerating the gutter language from minority individuals. This is not specific to the Stag, but a sad indictment of today's society. I noticed, the mother of small children being served with food at the bar certainly noticed. Just wish I had said something at the time without fear of being daubed as 'that prude' when I next visit again.

Otherwise, a marvellous establishment!

Called here for the first time before going to bramall lane, 15% discount on production of match ticket, excellent idea I will be calling again, cask beer is Very good too.

I really like this pub - but: a bit more consistency in terms of music and lighting would be great. Also the customer service needs to reflect the price of the food : at the moment it's somewhat haphazard; finally - and for me the most annoying on a visit by visit basis - is the truly awful wifi reception - I use the word reception loosely as it's barely discernible.

Could be so much better, beers and location are the best bits.

Started off well. Great starters. Battered black pudding was lush. Childrens meal great. Great beers and staff. Then it went down hill. Terrible roast beef. Either left on hot plate too long or microwaved. Mushroom stroganoff was tastlees. Wpuld go in for a pint again but not food. Love Thornbridge but not the food experience this time.
