We've eaten at this establishment multiple times since it opened last year - breakfasts, lunches & dinners. The food is fantastic, for breakfast we've had the Standard breakfast (full English) and Egg's Benedict. The Honey Sriracha Tofu Noodles & Crispy Noodle Salad vegetarian option for lunch the other day was literally the best salad I've had in a long time and for dinner the Sunday Roast will keep you full for the rest of the afternoon! Family friendly place with a great vibe and ambiance. We would highly recommend this to both couples and families.

We’ve been in for an intimate meal and a group gathering with each time having been �. Any chance you have to head down, do it, even more so if any bands are on. My boyfriend and i have been here on a few occasions, not only are the staff so friendly but also attentive to all your needs. The food is cooked beautifully. Left this evening feeling very satisfied, never knew a burger could taste so good!!

I never review anything but after visiting today I had to because they were so welcoming and accommodating to me and my toddler, even coming out in the snow to help my friend put her umbrella down! They couldn’t do enough for us and went above and beyond. Will definitely be going back again.

I love coming here the cocktails are unreal! The brunch menu is to die for as well as a fabulous lunch and dinner menu! Sunday roast is amazing too and you can’t go wrong with the trio of meats � I visit The Standard regularly and have never had a bad experience- highly recommend!

Had an amazing Sunday roast here last month, the pork belly was so good! One of the best roasts I’ve ever had, highly recommended!

Had a lovely evening with some friends, this was our first visit enjoyed the music selection even though it was a bit loud , would suggest to lower the pitch a little so people can talk, ,very helpful staff, good food, impressed with the wine selection, loved the homemade apple pie , overall a very enjoyable evening will go back again .

Had a fab evening for mother's day. The staff are always friendly and very attentive with a smile...My mother had a lovely evening and was very impressed....the cocktails were yummy too... Will definitely be going back very soon �

First time here and thought it was fab! Waiter very welcoming, decor is gorge and menu had plenty to choose from. We ordered the burger and the gammon which was lovely. The chips are the best I’ve tasted in a long while and the red cabbage was a nice touch as a side to the burger. Was to full for desserts so went for a coffee. I tend to judge a lot by the coffee and that didn’t disappoint either. Looking forward to going back.

Really pleased this has opened on the High Street and I really want to like it, but... Been twice on a Sunday and while the staff are nice and the beer selection is pretty good (could be better - more craft please) the music is way too loud and overbearing to have a nice relaxing Sunday afternoon drink and a chat. Save that for Friday night! Do they know it's not a nightclub anymore?

Lovely breakfast/brunch on Sunday for my mums birthday! Doesn’t open till 11am but suited us perfectly.

Only gripe, friedeggs with gammon slightly overdone so not as runny as hoped. And my brother was disappointed getting only one poached egg with full English. Other than that great food, great prices, great decor and would def recommend.

I think the Standard is a really welcome addition the Loughton High Street. It is just what is needed. I went last week with 3 girlfriends for drinks and nibbles. The decor is lovely and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The only reason why I have not given 5 stars is because I think in practice it felt a bit more like a restaurant than gastro pub and I thought having some light bites & sharing platters on the menu would have been good, as there was only chips. The day we went the white wine had practically run out. I understand there will be hiccups but suggest that needs to be rectified going forward.

We came for a birthday dinner with a large group and when seated we have a pillar in between our tables so we could not see the rest of our party. It felt like they were a completely different table. It is really nice venue. Music was a little loud but we understood it was for their ideal clientele. We ordered food with our waiter. My husband and I ordered wing as a starter (the same as my father in law) and they came about 10 minutes after everyone else got their starters. We had ordered BBQ and hot and spicy but both were BBQ.

After this the mains arrived very staggered which I can understand but my husband never received his burger and two of our party ordered the Beef Short Rib. It arrived and 70% of it was fat. It was inedible especially for £19! We expressed our concerns and the waiter apologised and asked if we would like a different dish but by this time most of the party had finished their meal. The burger I had was delicious and the chips were ok.

Another member of our party complained about their steak as it was supposed to be medium well but was hard and burnt.

Upon leaving early we were told by some of our party desserts were offered complimentary of the house but we left. I liked the fact he owners were very hands on in the restaurant but it was clear they could not handle large parties very well.

Staff were very polite and helpful, drinks were lovely but unfortunately we would not rush back.

Music was too loud so could hardly hear each other talk (had to shout!) and when we asked if it could be turned down just a notch (don't mind music being on) we were told we had to consider other customers. We weren't asking for it be turned off, just ever so slightly lower which I think was a fair compromise for all customers. Cocktails were great and food was good. Great idea to do several different takes on macaroni cheese but not enough flavour in the spinach and pesto one (couldn't taste the pesto). Given it was a Sunday I really wanted a roast and they looked amazing when I saw them on other tables but they didn't do a vegetarian one; being told I could just have the roast without the meat, isn't really very thoughtful. Plenty you can do for veggie versions. A bit overpriced but some great potential here.

The problem arose the next day when we realised we’d overpaid our bill by some £60, the mistake was ours but having raised this with the restaurant they haven’t refunded our money to date. All emails, calls and messages have just been ignored or fobbed off with an excuse. I feel like I’ve been robbed! AVOID AVOID AVOID.
