Haven Bridge Closure - Please be aware that Norfolk County Council have issued an emergency road closure notice for The Haven Bridge tonight, Monday 2nd July, and every night this week till Friday (7pm-5am) to hopefully sort out the current issues with the lifting machinery. There is also a warning that should a test lift go wrong and the bridge sticks in the open possition it could be closed to road traffic for a continuous period of up to 48 hours!!

What an excellent afternoon we had having afternoon tea. Loved the informal setting as suited the large group. Food was beautifully presented, good choice, great staff/service and great value. Nothing was too much trouble, the best afternoon tea in town, well done - we will be back!

Visited the Star Hotel today for Sunday Lunch in the River Room Restaurant, I was a little hesitant having very happy memories of dining here with my parents some forty or so years ago. It was excellent, we already knew the staff were very friendly and efficient having previously popped in over the last few months for coffee or a drink at the bar. We both had the roast sirloin of beef which was very well presented, served hot with a really good selection of fresh vegetables. Delicious rich gravy served in a gravy boat and horseradish sauce in a nice small ramekin. The menu is very varied offering one to three courses giving you plenty of options.

Lovely hotel, I spent one night here on business and could not get over how lovely the room was. It was modern and very nicely decorated and super clean😀 All the staff were helpful and attentive. The food was also very good. The restaurant and bar area have been lovingly decorated and the whole hotel has a great feel. My only complaint if you can call it that, is that I got woken up at first light by the pigeons!!! Obviously out of the control of the Star!!!!! Well done I will be back again when I am the area😃

I won a 3 course lunch for 2 people and I have to say the food was absolutely amazing. I could not fault anything. Staff very friendly, polite & helpful. The restaurant itself was very clean and decor lovely. I will definitely be returning. Thank you once again to Shauna and team �

Had afternoon tea with several friends, everyone said how lovely it was. It was excellent the only down side was I couldn't eat it all I was too full

Calling in for a coffee today and, if am honest a "nosey" to see the revamped hotel and we were very impressed. Friendly & helpful staff, our drinks were brought to us at the table. We sat in the lounge with a glorious open fire warming us on a chilly February day. Reviewing the menu for lunch/dinner/high tea all looked very inviting & not overly expensive. We shall certainly revisit!

Booked in for Sunday Lunch today and was pleasantly surprised by how different the hotel looks. The Nelson bar had a great selection of draught lagers and ales and also a good selection of gins..�.

The main restaurant overlooking the river and quay has been decorated to a really high standard which was matched by the service and the quality of food.. well done and thank you for a lovely afternoon �

Been a few times on Sundays and the meals have been delicious every time. Helpful staff and then ensured there was a nice vegetarian option provided for my daughter.

A return visit after 14 years and was very impressed. Tasteful renovations in both the public areas and bedrooms. Great choice on the menu - would recommend the scallops, sea bass and cherry frangipani. Great wine to compliment the meal and very reasonably priced. Staff extremely friendly and helpful �

Popped in weds tea ime for a drink, it was freezing in the lounge, 1 x electric fan heat plugged in

Same the log fire wasn’t on, would have been lovely � nice decor & comfy sofa, will defo go back

Came here twice once was for a lunch with my mother which was lovely and then came again in December with family on a bitterly cold night unfortunately the hotel was really cold in the bar and lounge area we were unable to take our coats off not sure if there was a problem with the heating. Fortunately the restaurant was warmer and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and service. Have booked for Valentines times day so hopefully it will be a lot warmer so we can sit and enjoy a pre dinner drink. Would give the food 5 �.
