The Station Inn

This was a lovely little place to stay. The room was spacious and homely, the bed was comfy and the breakfast was done well. Only downside was that the room was lacking a proper clean in some areas like the window sills and some areas in the bathroom were dusty and had flies & cobwebs.

I love this place!
I found it by chance last year because it was close to the train station (albeit a decent uphill walk) and loved it so much when I returned to the UK with friends this year we made it our first stop.
Nice open hill nearby to hiking, "The Helm".
The rooms aren't Hilton's, but that's what makes them perfect. Just the right charm and cleanliness to be comfortable and fit the "behind the pub" charm. Much of the attached Pub's food is way above Pub grade, yet not above a good pint or Wednesday night quizzing. Easy, free parking for guests.
Outside of town and quiet despite being at a crossroads.

Handy if you miss your train connection at Oxenholme. 5 minutes walk up the hill quicker coming down. Good selection of real ales. Sells food. In GBG.

Good location, friendly staff and nice food. If you have kids the main reason to visit this place is for the attached playground which is probably one of the best in the area. They are also Alpacas, mini golf and various other activities aimed at kids.

the hotel decor was very clean and very tasteful
the beds were comfortable and again tasteful decor in the rooms / clean/ clean towels etc
the building containing the bedrooms was very quiet and you couldnt hear any noise from the pub.
there were some locals eating in the pub part which often shows that the food is good.
the breakfast was EXCELLENT.

Nice popular village pub hidden away off the main roads. Worth seeking out. Activity areas for toddlers and nippers adjacent. Nice well kept ales and good food.

Great atmosphere and good quality locally sourced food. Highly recommend a visit.

Stayed here over easter weekend smart pub and rooms. Full breakfast was spot on
